So SE stole the spotlight again in MWC. nokia has shown its fans nothing special this time. samsung and LG are innovative. although i can hardly differentiate their models from each anymore lookwise

Some other phones from SE are pretty much ready for the market. Will be some announcement soon, IMO. |

But why didn't they announce it on MWC? are they going to steal the spotlight from idou if they do so?

So true. I'm so confused with all their different, yet identical looking models.
And to be honest I expected a lot more from MWC. Not so much from SE, but from everyone else, but nobody really came to the party in my opinion. Idou seems to be the star of the show.

Idou was claimed to be Entertainment Unlimited product....hope they have a competition open for all the suggest a catchy name like Xperia/ Cybershot/ Walkman
maybe that is what Xperia meant for? sorry I am ignorant |

Its just a guess. But I think SE did not want their XPERIA to be overshadowed by the hype on the IDOU. So they decided to keep it for later. Or thats what i think. |

Question:
How is going to release a phone based on Symbian Foundation OS on the second half of 2009 if the OS will only be done on the beginning of 2010?
Funny. I see a big delay in the future for Idou...... perhaps bigger than X1īs . |

how come the OS will only be done next year? the OS itself is still based on s60 5th according to AAS. so if the main platform is ready then the development of other components mp updates wont be too long now since SE has extensive experience with symbian OS. besides from what we have seen the platform is at least 50-60% ready.

I don't believe so....which is good because that means the UI has to be very finger-friendly.
I'm already getting excited for this phone, and it's nowhere near ready to be released:cry:

To everyone:
I just learned that the 12.25Mp module used by idou(highly assuming that it's the one sony announced long ago) uses a 28mm wide-angle lens - just so happened that Nokia N86 also uses 28mm as well.

According to some people here, there should be ~7 (seven) phones announced ... where are they then? Just asking...
That ~7 phones includes what was announced the other day too... The W395, C901 and C903. SE split their announcement up like many other manufacturers have done this year. So we did see 5 new phones which is at least closer to 7 than 2. No word yet on where the others are.
OK, understood...
so one more q from me: are there any more S60 phones to be announced ? maybe the one with qwerty?

Its confirmed that Idou has a resistive touchscreen. I don't mind it though, as long as the final UI ends up being as responsive as we saw yesterday.

Resistive is futile.
