i desperately want to know whether it will work well with the HCB-700.. been waiting to get one for ages but have heard that it won't be fully compatible..
i assume this just means it doesn't support the full bt profiles as the p910 didnt but id like confirmation before i slap one in the car.. will it do the phone book sync etc ?
it's obviously got the new power connector too, so any cradle would be different.

Thinking about putting in an order with them. My only issue is, what's up with those shipping costs??? Over $120 for US delivery. The only thing I can figure is that they insure the hell out of it. |

I finaly touched the P990 today (it was a dummy, but still:-) ).
SE Belgium confirmed a delivery of 200 pieces on the 1st of august, so good news i thought. But the bad news is that there is not yet a date for the second delivery. But i reserved mine with the first delivery and should get it on the 3rd of august. So happy me!!! |

yes, I mentioned it before... FCC approval is only for US market, i.e. if they want to sell it in the US. since they have their approval, it does not mean there is any delay. Also, let's keep in mind that they never said they were going to sell in the US, so doesn't matter either way.
Good news in a way, it hints that they are considering releasing it (officially) in the US, so we might see it through Congular or T-Mobile, probably much, much later than rest of world.
I did walk into RCS Computer Experience in Manhatten the other day, they said they were aware that it just got FCC approval and that they would have it as soon it is released. |

What you fail to realize that REGARDLESS if SE will sell it in the use it MUST get FCC approval before they can ship BECAUSE it has 1900Mhz band ... a band ONLY in North America & South America which means it CAN be used here; and for that allowance it must meet the FCC approval for their restrictions.

I had recently placed a pre-order with Mobile-gadgets.net
Just got an e-mail saying that my order has now been processed and my order status on their website has changed from queued to processed
Does this mean it has been sent out to be delivered or am i just getting my hopes up?
anyone know what they mean when they say 'processed'? |

shipped = sending out. Processing an order means that they have you on the list to be helped soon. Queue is waiting list. But I bet you already knew that |

Yeah, the p990 will be the best phone in the world because the other UIQ 3 phones have been out for a while, it will be the best phone in the world because its been delayed for so long. You just keep telling yourself that and eventually we may all believe it.
Its been delayed for god knows what reason, the fact its only just got FCC approval means it could have just been waiting for that.
Youve all been waiting so long for this now your getting to the point where your starting to beleive its more than it is. |

SE's delay of the P990 is terrible.
Nokia announced the E60/61 smartphones much after the initial P990 announcement, and the Nokia's have crititally hit the market before the P990.
Forget about the die hard Sony Ericsson fanboys, think about how many corporates will be flocking to the E60/61's instead of the P990? The E60/61's are great - really, really impressive - much more so than the P990 prototype.
Also, not putting WIFI in the M600 was a big mistake. |
