Anyone seen the martin fields screen protector for this phone? It comes with a protector for the whole back of the phone! Awesome!

edit: Anyone tried the case from the camera phone kit (ipk-100) witht he K850? If so does it fit well?

will the martin fields overlay affect the light sensor on the back?

Has anyone yet bought a Martin Fields overlay for their K850i who can answer this? I've got a crystal case for mine at the mo but would prefer the overlay/screen protector as it's less bulky. Just don't want to spend a tenner on something that makes the main selling point of the phone defunct (well, in the dark at least)!

I just applied Martin Field to my phone, and photo taken is still very good!!~~~

Going to this site will help you a lot. Basically you need scotch tapes, a very good dust & fingerprint wiping cloth (3M cloth is good) and a sculpture modelling tool or a credit card to smooth out the bubbles. I bought one on my w950 and tried to put it on myself, it seems a lot easier to apply than other screen protectors. Bubbles seems to appear a LOT lesser, most probably is because it is a bit thicker than other films. For my k850, the mobile shop helped me to apply it onto my phone. This is one of the good services that shop provide. If you happened to misalign the position and wanted to remove and reapply, use scotch tape to tape on the protector itself to peel the film out and not your fingernails to try to pry open the side.

Select your country and the page will load more instructions. Good luck ^^

Been having troubles with my K850 these past few days. Started to get very buggy and crashing a lot. Had to hard reset a few times. Camera lens has also stopped working and the phone crashes every time I make a call. It's going back.

Oh and it's an O2 branded phone running the first firmware.

Very disappointing conclusion by Phone Arena:

"We are disappointed by the Sony Ericsson K850 and how it performs as a camera. Really, considering it is the top Cyber-shot branded phone, it should be one of the best on the market, but the comparison with the old N95 and the G600 shows different things. As the K810, the K850 has its strong flash, but probably due to wrong algorithm delivers colorless images. Having in mind the upcoming cameraphones from other brands, we are not sure the K850 will be able to stay competitive".

i dont understand reviewers
some of them say k850 is better in camera performance, others say its n95.
I do know that k850 takes much better pictures than n95

I'm not surprised. SE has been doing their best to ruin the good image of the Cyber-shot brand with their latest phones. If I would go out and buy a Sony Cyber-shot camera (not phone!) I would pray that it would have nothing in common with the Cyber-shot camera phones!

Well they delayed the phone so much that people were expecting (rightly so) that it would beat the older 5MP phones easily in picture quality. It probably does beat other 5MP phones in most picture quality departments (judging from various reviews) but only by a slight margin. That's probably what's disappointing most people.

I'd like to say I'm warming to the K850 the more I use it

initially I thought ho-hum, a beefed up K800 and yes, the new d-pad take a little getting used to, especially when pressing upwards and trying not to hit the new middle touch soft key, but the camera really does do a good job.

I wouldn't even consider myself to be as good as an amateur photographer and I use my 8 megapixel DSC-T100 mostly on auto settings, but the quick snaps I have done with the K850 have turned out pretty good.

Tonight I've been playing with the video and that was probably more suprising than the stills... very impressed so far.

thing is that while I know SE usually improve the camera with firmware updates I am already quite satisifed.

Also we have good members who find ways to tweak the best from them and I look forward to see what they come up with for the K850.

with wine, I am no connoisseur but I know what I like, and so it is with the K850

Ive been a SE person for a long while, since the T68i (Which i still have)
And was really excited about the k850i, When i first got the phone (2 weeks ago)the finger prints got on my nerves, now im fine with it, I also missed the the time on standby screen, Now i press the button and think nothing more of it.

Then 6 days after getting my phone it gave up, Just became a flashing brick. My heart sunk and i was more shocked than anything. O2 were brill, sorted it all out and got a replacement out the next day (Full marks to them).

I took my new k850i out and it felt so different to the first one.

Strange, but its better built, the battery cover is solid, the phone reacts and the keys are 1000% more responsive. Camera is so much better too and ive now been playing round with the settings to which i like.

Ok im not saying the phone doesnt have bugs, but they will become less with new firmwares. Some pics are still dark, but i can get round that for the time being by using the red eye flash. the pic seems to be taken on the 2nd flash for some reason.

But last night i went round to one of my friends, His eldest son had seen the shop in the phone and said he just didnt like it at all (It was a plastic display model) He asked if he could look at mine, Sure no problem.

Some 4 hours later I got the phone back with a sad look, (The battery had gone flat) I asked him why the sad face, you dont like the phone.

Well that had now change, I now had a cool phone. (This is from a tenager) How come the brick turner cool, To which i was told, Camera, screen, marble madness, media player and so on.

So the moral of the story, Have a play with the phone before you or people say anything.

If a 15 year old says the phone cool, then god it must be, becuase everything is normal uncool !!
