Thanks! Here are a couple more pics...
The pedicab. This form of transport started becoming popular in the Philippines in the late 80s. Driven by skinny, sunburnt, underfed but incredibly strong men. (Pic taken from inside a bus, which had really dirty glass windows)
Next, the minibus, which is a heavily modified Toyota Coaster. Not even the engine is original. Minibuses are still used but look very tame nowadays. Their glory days were in the weed-scented 70s and early 80s: Each one was a rolling hard rock / heavy metal temple: Swaying 6-foot long steel antennas which loudly, defiantly lashed against the roof, Led Zeppelin / Kiss posters all over the ceiling, stacks of cassettes on the dashboard. As a small kid, I could still remember being assaulted by Black Sabbath's Sabbra Cadabra from the giant loudspeakers beneath the seats. Cavite's cultural pride, they are!
