@gc12,
These issues have been addressed on the first page. Start there first and then work your way back.

i think its 3 MB right? how does your telco charge you? by the minute or by the filesize?

Unless I am mistaken, being charged by the minute relates to "dial-up", and this is not a function of GPRS. Second, there are no operators that I know of that charge by the "file size" but rather by the packet, i.e, kilobyte per usage. Please correct me if I am incorrect.

ahh i guess its different from your part of the world.. coz we are charged by minutes usage.. and yes.. its GPRS
ahh.. sorry i am being just a normal / ordinary man when i say "file size" instead of per kilobyte usage. although if you download a file and the download is measured by the files size which translates to your kilobyte per usage..
although i must be wrong if you think otherwise.. please correct us if we are wrong |

@sPank,
I see your point, but kilobytes/kilobits/packets, etc... are all data, with my point being that this is part of the operator charging scheme. Common sense would in most cases prevail with most people understanding this. However, thanks for breaking it down further.

oh okay.. you're correct once again as always |

LOL! Just found the part about the joystick and the standby mode. I must be blind as I went thru it before without seing it.
Last problems unsolved are the infrared not working and the GPRS firmware update menu disappearance from the phone. Thanks anyway!

No worries. That front page is a serious place to start. Kudos to Mike for starting this thread.

Forgive my ignorance - it's been years since I've done a firmware upgrade. I read that T-Mobile have approved the latest firmware. Does this mean I can just download the update from SEUS - or is this one a generic update? If not where do I get the T-Mobile version from? |

If the update is available to your T-Mobile customised phone, SEUS will perform the update. It will not debrand the phone. |

Just found that for some reason if you do a reset settings on the K800i you loose some of the functionality of the R1DE Firmware. For instance when I first update the internet shortcut key had to be held down for a couple of seconds to open the browser, this has now become instananeous.
I tried to re-update this morning, SEUS told me I had the new firmware but could continue to reupload it (Iguess). This has made no difference, the internet key still directly accesses the browser.
Anyone else experienced something similar?

I am using firmware R1ED001 that upgraded from SEUS. Now, I discovered some problems which don't happen previously as follows,
1) Unable to delete "Multiple" records from phonebook. After marked several, the "C" key not functioning. However, I can delete several from messages.
2) After plugged handfree HPM-70, sometimes it prompts "Continue playback through speaker" when turn on music using the playback on top right button. However, the earpies sign still show on phone. Everytime I need to re-plug the earpies and it go back to normal. (Is this a firmware bug? or my earpies problem? )
I don't know whether anyone highlighted the above problems with K800i. I just post it since I don't see this on first post.
Thanks.

Edited: for (2) when the problem prompts "Continue playback through speaker" with earpies, but I still can listen song if I use menu to play music. So I beleive it is firmware problem casued the playback button not functioning.
Additional problem I found. The phonebook search is inaccurate for 2nd character. For example FE -> it prompt to FOxxxxx, then only it found follow by 3rd character. |

@mrwoll:
What a bizarre finding! Unfortunately, I won't try reset setting as I'll lose all email, internet, and other things--and that'll troublesome--just to confirm it. If that's true, I don't know what's going on. It's never been found before. Other users, maybe? Anyway, what F/W is installed after re-update? Branded or unbranded? |

Hi
I have a phonebook problem.
One of my contacts is not recognised by the phone
If I go to my phonebook and call her I se her picture in the display,
But next time I call I go to the call log and her number shows up instead of
Her name, and when I press the number no picture comes up.
Only one number in my phonebook has this problem. I was hoping updating my firmware
would do the trick but it didn’t
