Hi, people!
Just to let you know that I could not get rid of all the bugs in my final driver with a replaced Snow/Beach scene just yet.
In the meantime I have received my Satio, so I left my good old C905 for a while. As for the picture quality, I can say some things for those who want to know how does the new phone compare to the previous model.
Night pics using Twilight Landscape can be just as good as with the C905. 1 second of exposure time, low ISO and the like. Pics generally need some post processing sharpening, as they tend to come out too soft. My main concern is that sometimes pictures come out blurry in the corners, with the center ramaining sharp. Even though, I think that its pics are generally better than with the C905. The lenses are way better. Now we don't get all that yellow spots at the edges of the picture, and bright scenes don't look too much washed out anymore. White Balance in Twilight Landscape is fixed at Auto, although it manages to adjust colors quite well. I guess that it must be one of the best Auto White Balance I've tried so far.
Here they go some 100% comparison crops of similar shots from both phones, as well as general pics of them both:

Vit,
Sorry to see you have abandoned the C905 We will miss you.
If only you could add manual shutter & manual ISO to your driver it would be the best.
I have noticed that while I do really like DM3.8, it needs your manual saturation controls. |

That's because the Satio's pic is a bit overexposured.
Take a look @ this other sample from Satio (I've just sharpened it a bit on Picasa):
And two crops of it:
Simply spot on pic this one!
I also forgot to mention that its flash shots are superb!
Before any of you say that I am regreting the C905: It's not like that, I am just informing those who may be curious about Satio's quality when faced against the C905.

Hi, Jake!
Thanks for the kind message! I'll abandon it sooner or later, but I will still try to improve it before throwing in the towel! LOL. In the meantime, you may try to use my old mixed CS Xp 4.1 + DM 3.5. That one has manual ISO and all controls for manual saturation, too. It has the improved Twilight Landscape, too. Give it a try.
Kind Regards.

Hey Vit, thank you so much for this comprison!
Can you post some more 1:1 comparison-shots of Satio and C905. Maybe some indoor, flash shots (no macro shots) and 100% crops (to see the noise)?
I think about to change from my C905 to Satio too, but only if Satio offers me the similar or hopefully better picture quality in all photographic situations as my C905! |
