October? Well... it's a long time. And in this timespace a lot of other brands can release its phones. Good as Idou or even better.

it would mean christmas, or if they are referring to financial year 2009, then that would mean 2010 march or somewhere near that time frame... |

The keys on that keyboard are strangely similar to those on the W995, don't you find  and both look equally out of place.

H2 or 2nd half covers 1st July - December 31st, and in reality that means its coming out in December. If it was going to be out before October they'd have said "Q3" (ie, the third quarter of the year), but instead they said H2, which is the nice way of saying December (the less nice way being "Q4").
Nobody at SE is going to say December, because basically they want you queing up for the Idou from July 1st onwards, and not looking twice at any of their competitor products that may hit the stores earlier. If there's a great Samsung phone coming out on July 2nd, SE want you thinking "well gee that looks swell, but the Idou will be out any day now..."

Umm... A cybershot is scheduled to release in OCtober and its going to be 12 mp. If this is not on the cards in ctober then i guess we will get a feature phone that sports a 12 mp. But this will be out in october surely.
And It would be pretty tough to better the specs here. If this thing has HD recording too... then...
How can you possibly better this device btw? Just for knowledge.. |

can anyone tell me how samsung and nokia can manage OLED screens and SE cannot?
its SONY shouldnt they be able to make some OLED's by now ... ?
so before they launch this device id like to see a change to capacitive instead of resistive (source video on youtube: tod the global project manager, let him trap himself after the first guy is done asking some other ppl start asking and he answers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3CSI2AYB64)
Capacitive OLED vs Resistive TFT ... its not hard, id wish they would nice think things through. theres time to change but if this is supposed to be the bees knees then i would like for them to put a little quality time into thinking about what it is they plan to push. coming to market with resistive is just f**kin lazy. |

sony knows how to do OLED touch screens the X1 Walkman shows this.
you never know if the final Idou is going to have an OLED screen, but i highly doubt it cause of the prize point

It's not a matter of Sony Ericsson not being able to manage OLED screens, it's a matter of practicality and necessity. Samsung's OLED screens aren't as amazing as it looks on paper... there was a recent comparison with the OLED screens to Sony Ericsson TFT screens at GSM Arena and our TFT screens whip their asses still. TFTs are traditional, yes, but they work and Sony Ericsson's been improving them so well.
I actually prefer Resistive for some reason... maybe because I like the flexibility of being able to use a stylus. |

Boinng. Are you an SE CEo?? Q4 means October to december. the Xepria was scheduled for H2 and was launched on sept 30th. And when the xperia was announced it had hardly anything running on it. This phone has many things going for it. Also being Symbian, its in SE''s forte. |

Sorry for the OT, but LOL at MR double standards. I just got warned for stating a fact (That the N86 doesn't have an all metal body) and for stating a general opinion (That it isn't exactly a looker).

OT: Same here synn. When MH and chletten were trolling the SE announcement section it was ok. Anyways, chletten loved the N86. I will make sure he doesnt choose my wife. |
