Tec9, no, it's a security thing. A long strip of magnetized (or maybe RW) metal is put in the book that will set off the alarm if you walk through without first deactivating the strip. I don't think the phone can do that, by the way.

yeah it was hella strange i dont know how that happened. I've seen stuff on web sites talking about setting off those security strip things with a cell phone, but that was the frequency of the radio maves from the phone... anyways i think that was jibberish.
I'm sure i set it off iwth my phone's bluetooth, it was only me walking through the little secutiry thingy (what the hell is that called?) and i was scanning. i went through again without scanning and it didn't go off. Maybe it was a freak of bt or something... |

Bluejacking is hilarious here. You step onto a train and get bombarded by PIM items from every differetn direction.
I was in York and went home by train to Newcastle. During that train journey there were 6 bluetooth phones and a headset and a PDA. Every time I made a call, this headset kicked in (incredibly confusing since it wasnt paired or mine), received about 20 notes and 3 photos. lmao

I visited a dentist in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch last year and he said "Your teeth are alright but your gums will have to come out".
Burgaz, why don't you visit Cardiff or Swansea and walk around a bit. You're bound to Bluejack some poor unsuspecting Welsh biddy.
Good luck Dude....

Lolz all the posts are really dunny, but you guys in Europe and the States are missing out on a lot of stuff to do with BlueTooth, lolz the last time i visited my parents in Kuwait between semesters, i was sitting in a cafe, with a friend of mine , he liked some tunes i had on my T630 so he told me to send them via bluetooth, the most number of devices ever discovered by my phone was 1 maybe two if me and my friends were sitting together. But to my surprise i found more than 20 devices yes more than 20, people in kuwait have started using bluetooth as a method of getting to know new people, and scoring dates with girls, they name there phones as if they are putting a nickname on the net and then simply chat by sending post notes, one thing the poeple of kuwait mostly own SE phones they hate Nokia this is what helped them, it was awesome i went in and got a share of the fun it was awesome it is like having msn on while not at home, why do i need wap if i can chat using bluetooth;) hi guys try to launch this trend it was tremendos fun.
Kepp up the good stories

Most people in the US don't know what Bluetooth is either. And if they do, it is because they read something about it or overheard someone talking about it...
Very few people in the US use Bluetooth. This makes Bluejacking very difficult. I've had a BT phone for over two years now, and I've only Bluejacked ONE person, EVER!

Hey hey, I know what Bluetooth is. It's just that most people here in the US aren't as into their cellphones as Brit's are, and others out of the US. I belong in the UK, not here!!!
Nobody appreciates their phones! However, with the coolness factor of wireless headsets, more people are learning about Bluetooth. Also, with the intrigue of transferring things without a cable to your PC, things are looking up, but very slowly!!!

once, me and my buddies were in the movies and i was talking to my friend about blue jacking (which he never knew about it). So what better way to illustrate than to demonstrate ! i made a search and found someone called BlueJack, this guy was asking for it.....
i made a contact called "raise ur hand" and sent it, me and my friend looked around until we found a guy in the front seats raising his arm and "giving the finger". i simply gave him another contact called "raise ur leg!" poor guy couldnt do anything so he closed his blue tooth
@abadicos : im doing my BEng. here in manchester, but im from kuwait. and yes... it is damn fun back home all you need to do have a mocha from starbucks, take a seat, find some girls[usually 2 and more] sitting with their mobile phones and let the FUN begin !
