Hope they'll release it soon, I want some new functions.
R1ED001 is so nice, no crashes. Hope SE won't screw up the mediaplayer.

Sorry to say but this isn't like the psp were you get new functions every update. The updates are just for correcting bugs.

Helloo wake up, there are some new function in R1ED001 too, so there's a chance they will put some little things in it.

There has been many cases where upgraded firmware has ushered in new features/functions. Of course its not going to be huge, but there is a chance of a few new ones. |

What does an EROM do? And how does it affect me if it hasn't been updated? |

You wake up dude. He is correct. The releases mainly fix bugs and try to prevent others from occuring. New enhancements are for the next model. Just because SE puts in one or maybe two enhancements does not mean that they will continue developing on this platform. As it stands, you might not see anymore upgrades as the k800i is now old news and out dated. SE drives on, you should too. Better start saving your pennies for a new model or get left behind.

Could you explain this better please? I have a branded VFUK, never unbranded, updated to R1ED via SEUS and don't have what you're describing. What's the "Ticker"?
|
|
Sure: When i updated to R1ED the top left button changed from the "Calls" function to "Ticker" and the top right button no longer performed any function whereas it formally functioned as a "Menu" button.
The Ticker option seems to be some form of internet news ticker. It can be activated / deactivated in the Settings > General > Ticker section. If you like i can take a photo with my GF's Samsung E720 and upload it although the quality wont be the best.

Ok mate, I don't think you've got the VF UK firmware then, not sure what's been downloaded to your phone, but on R1D VF the top left button is Menu, and top right is Toolbar. There isn't even a "Ticker" optin in the Settings menu! |

Haven't checked for Orange UK firmware for a while, but I think it's safe to assume it's not out yet
I can also confirm that asking the orange retailers does nothing. They told me to contact Sony Ericsson because Orange don't have anything to do with the firmware..... |

Hey guys.
I haven't been on here in a while (since I haven't encountered any bugs - I used to be quite the complainer here for the new firmware) but I've come into a serious problem.
The alarm function of my K790i does not work anymore. Everytime I set the alarm to wake at a certain time, it wakes the phone, but when the melody starts playing the phone immediately "crashes" to the WSOD and shuts off, thereby disabling the alarm itself. When I turn on the phone, the alarm indicator is set to the time I originally set it at, and not 9 minutes later, so I know it didn't snooze itself.
What can be the problem here? Any help is appreciated. |

Sorry People.
I have check with my sources and Orange still hasnt approved the update.
All the other networks have except Orange.
I will keep checking but i will say that it will be another few weeks before orange approve the update, |

Alright, in response to my above bug, after extensive testing, I've come to isolate the bug.
The phone date, if set to the month of September (2006) will have all alarms go off without fail when the phone is off. However, any latter dates (ie. Oct, Nov, Dec 2006, and Jan 2007 onwards) will cause the alarm to fail when the phone is off.
I don't know what the hell is going on, but this is a piece of shit programming by SE. That is all I have to say.
For other K790i users out there, please test this out for me. I am currently on the APAC R1EG001 firmware to keep the tests identical.
Edit: My EROM is also to the most current version, the R13016 or whatever it's called.
Edit 2: The phone is unbranded.
