August? Damn, how late is this phone? Not only did we wait years for its release, but now we have waited about 6 months in delays. |

- if Voda is saying Aug, this is in line with SE's UK eShop. Probably means it will be available in Hong Kong and rest of Asia in July, i.e. available from most of the distributors on ebay
- Really wish the m600 had WiFi. If it had WiFi, there would be no reason whatsoever to waste our time waiting for the P990!!! |

Scandinavia will also have it in July IMHO
Michal from my-symbian just said SE told him P990 starts shipping "very soon" - he concludes this means July for some places

I had the P800, P900 and the P910. Why are you guys still waiting on the P990? For my needs the HTC/imate/JAMin kicks its butt. The only thing I miss from the PXXX is a true full backup. Is there some super feature that the P990 has that I’m missing? |

when one compares the p990 to the jamin it might have a 3g advantage ,but if 3g is of no use to you the jamin wins.the only problem i found with wndows devices were that they tend not to be finger user friendly-but otherwise once they start incorporating 3g on their handsets and get a thumb friendly interface i think looking at symbian will be looking in the wrong direction(that is if the above facts are considered) |

@Tanquen, I have had the complete opposite experience, had a p900 then a p910 which i exchanged for a Imate Jam. It was the most buggy and unreliable device I have ever had. It would require at least 5 resets a day, which is not good considering that it's a phone. I updated the phone several times but it still wasn't stable. I sold it for a loss and bought a p910 and a peace of mind again. |

like many others here, i have been waiting since around the new year for the p990 to finally be on the shelves,my p910 died in febuary,so i went back to using my p900,now that is on its last legs, if there was another phone that was as good, i would of bought it already, my real complaint is that SE just do not seem to want to communicate with the people that have made them what they are today, there are some very loyal customers out there, all they ask is to be kept in the loop so they know what is happening!!! |

I dont think SE know themselves when it's coming out......
I used to work in the Samsung Mobile R&DCentre and they always used to miss deadlines and the project fails....

I've got the Orange SPV M5000 & I hate it, it's slow, crashes & hasn't got a jog wheel which I still miss even after 5 month's of ownership I still go to use a non existant jog wheel to scroll down the menu's/webpages, & after 2 1/2 years of P series phones. I've even toyed with the idea in the past 5 month's of selling it & buying another P910 off ebay. Roll on the release of the P990 so I can get shot of a WM5 device & go back to the Symbiam fold.

Well for me the rival for the P990 is HTC Hermes. It has 3G, Jog Dial, wifi and everything else. And they have taken care that you work with one hand. Except for the keyboard of course.
But the Hermes is not out yet either. They say end of July or August. |

I just don't understand how anyone could possibly rate a Windows pocket pc. Someone asked what the "super special feature" of a p series is over the Imates? SIMPLE. They don'y crash! oh and you actually get battery life. I just don't know how WM5 of previous versions have such critical acclaim?? I really don't. Its just not a reliable product and Microsoft need to really start getting the finger out. I just wouldn't ever trust my info with pocket PC ever again!
As for the stupendous CPU speeds in the imates? What the hell is all that about? All that does is make the battery run out faster. Personally, I think one feature that WM6 needs is the ability the turn the CPU speed down to a realistic speed.
I'll wait as long as it takes for the P990i.
