Nice photos guys.
Haven't seen the ads yet, but I'll give them a watch soon. Did anyone else sign up for the free 2degrees $5 simcards? I did.

oh no i obviously didnt sign up on their emailing list! Probably too late now?
Went and saw my old mate who works at vodafone in Gisborne today and asked him if i could play with the LG Arena. Luckily they had one in stock and everything is perfect - the UI is really good, very responsive touch screen, solid build quality....then i try texting. Complete disaster! For some reason the responsiveness goes out the window, and its unbelievably slow to even get to the second letter! I thought it was just me and gave it to my mate to have a try and he found exactly the same. What a way to ruin the whole experience!
Oh well, im happy with the Renoir, was just curious and i guess curiousity killed the cat! |

@soane28
just sign up on the 2 Degrees website - you haven't missed out. I doubt I'll get one of the free SIM cards because I'm not on Prepay.

Apple breaks Vodafone's monopoly on official phones. What does this mean for SE's online shop?

Presumably you mean Vodafone's online shop.
I dunno, Vodafone's website won't let me into the iPhone section right now, but aren't the prices exactly the same? And I don't know about you guys but when I think of buying an iPhone, or anything Apple for that matter, I don't think of going to the Apple website. I'm more likely to hit up the Vodafone site or an official reseller site. So perhaps this is better in that they are covering all bases?

Nope. I mean the Official SE store not available to kiwis.

Apple's prices are $20 - $30 cheaper which is a shot across the bows of Vodafone considering manufacturers usually sell at RRP.
Also, this is the first manufacturer to sell phones independent of Vodafone. Perhaps SE NZ could grow some balls and open retail stores which sell phones for all networks?

Ah, now I understand your post.
I didn't realise Apple were undercutting Vodafone! Maybe this is the beginning of a price war between the two? Hopefully.
I very much doubt that we'll see the SE store here. At least not until it is rolled out in more major countries elsewhere.
