About tablet Z2, i was expecting 32gb internal. all other specs are expected, also, wouldn't a tablet make a good use from 4gb of ram?
about Z2, irimas from XDA says that his prototype doesn't have a shatter film and also someone here and in digi-wo said sony logo is printed on the glass itself, these 2 things are good sign for no shatter film for retail version. nice sony.

Can you understand that Apple has super excellence supply chain that squeeze out every single penny of investment?
While Sony and other companies (even Samsung) NOT!
That's why Apple is stay ahead of other companies as well, for example that iPhone 4 Retina Display (launch in 2010), they got ahead before anyone else (ppi competition) for sake of two years.
Don't bullshit.

Wait, so the one with the better supply chain gets the better displays - duh.
So, in other words, you're defending the fact that they don't have as good a supply chain? And we should feel sorry for them or something for not having as good a supply chain? That the consumer should empathise with them?
Explain how Amazon got an even better display then with LTPS? Low units, but still. Explain the lack of a QHD display (rumoured)? (I reserve judgement until at least it's unveiled, but since we have a Sony representative available, might a well take the opportunity to find out).
Sony used to set a lot of trends. Li-on batteries to VAIO Z. The latter shows they show their bright spark occasionally. The Tablet Z was unmatched until the very end of last year. They didn't capitalise on its success. And when they've put even further emphasis on smartphones and tablets since then, I, and every consumer doesn't care how it happens, we want it to happen. A good display, good battery life, etc.
Again, I am not judging yet, at least until it's unveiled. And then until I see it. The consumer wants a good battery life - the consumer doesn't care if it comes with a 6000 mAh battery or a 16000 mAh battery, igzo or not igzo, efficient or inefficient processor. It's the end result that matters. The same with display quality, fluidity, durability etc.
In other words, you're point about the supply chain doesn't really carry any weight. Because if it does, you're implying Sony have an excuse to be beaten by the competition. They don't.
(I'll say it again, I'm reserving judgement until I see it, and I know it's going to be the best tablet in many ways for a long time, but I can't stand apologists).

A 720p phone in 2010? Even qHD was rare back then and WVGA the norm.

I don't think so, I could be wrong, but according to gsmarena, the first 720p phone was the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD I757, january 2012. Most 720p devices were tablets back then. Again I am probably wrong. |

If I'm not mistaken, aren't the new JDI panels using LTPS? If so, I don't think we have anything to worry about with respect to panels, as LTPS is even more power-efficient than IGZO. I remember reading a displaymate post where they took Apple to task for "only" using IGZO on the iPad Air while Google had moved on to LTPS in the 2013 Nexus 7. |

According to this article, LTPS>IGZO, but... "While LTPS is better than IGZO, IGZO is expected to win out because it’s easier and cheaper to manufacture. LTPS will probably stick around in smaller, flagship smartphones and tablets, while IGZO eventually takes the rest of the smartphone/tablet/laptop/desktop/TV market.": http://mobile.extremetech.com[....]-high-res-desktop-display-soon
anyway, LTPS is better = saves more battery.
question is, does any sony product has LTPS panel and if so then why they don't advertise it?

I do have to wonder if this new Z2 tablet will use the same front facing stereo speakers that Sirius uses, or maybe even a better variant of it. All Xperia tablets until now have been pretty lackluster in the external speaker department, and I'm hoping that finally changes with this one.

I can recreate that lol. It looks almost exactly like a Tablet Z. About screen, I don't think it NEEDS a higher resolution. The actual model has an awesome screen. Like I've said a lot of times, almost 180 degrees and not even a single color difference. Throw a Triuliminos into that, X Reality, and it's good already (IMO).
About battery, again, same argument I've used over and over. Battery is going to be awesome into that. Same resolution, same screen size, same battery size, but with a much more power efficient processor, it will last for a good while.
I've managed 1d16h of time on. Around 1\\3 or 1/4 of that time, WiFi was on, and 8h of screen time (brightness st minimum, enough to read even in indirect sunlight.
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |

i m writing from a Tablet Z and man it's Great.!!!! They improve its flaws and we cry for an absurd resolution. This screen is very good!!!! But I agree better sound and autonomy are Needed!!!
