@avmaxfan - the combination of all on one place is unbevievable.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Android 2.5 is Gingerbread. And Motorola Droid successor will be the first phone to come out with it.
@mediar
Yes but then is capable of giving us this "surprise"

LOL
It will be available from Q1 2011 depending on the market. Europe and Asia will get it first perhaps like the X10, US may have to wait a little more. Maybe a month or two after the Asia release.
How come the specs are suddenly upgraded
wih qwerty and 16 mp camera? If its suppose to be released q1, isn't a bit late to change hardware parts this close to release?
what specs are upgraded? Except for the camera, nothing else is upgraded.
And yes it is a bit late to change hardware parts but I guess its not impossible either. I had mentioned earlier that after SONY announced the new 16.4 mp camera module that maybe the X12 will get it, and it seems that will be the case.

Next release of Android is V2.3, which may be Froyo (ala V2.0 VS V2.1) or Gingerbread

Those specs are very impressive, if true, and definitely would make an awesome device |

I'd pay top dollar for that if it doesn't have a physical keyboard

If these specs are indeed true then it is one huge leap forward for SE!! The only concern I have is announcement versus release date.
SE should announce it in January cause announcing it now in November for a Q1 release opens SE up to attack as has always been the case recently.
It's not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it: Dups! 2009 |

Announcement early November and shipping in mid January is only eight weeks - if the previously mentioned shipping date turns out to be correct.
Those specs are amazing - and all theoretically possible - and with the latest OS version the phone will definitely be good for a couple of years. The X12 should be revealed at the same time as the revealing of the DoCoMo winter collection in November - in three weeks.
I hope we can count on them creating another great looking device.

these are really great news.....but what worries me is the size of the phone....looking at recently announced 4" screen phones from other manufacturers, they are all way bigger than the xperia x10......i just hope sony ericsson will not make the device bigger than the x10.....
has anyone got any information about the size of the phone, thickness or weight? |

The specs sheet is impressive but I've a feeling the phone might not get an update for Android 3.0 when it gets released... |

I'd like the phone to have a similar thickness to the X10, I find it comfortable to slip into your pocket. With it still having a 4" screen I can't see it being vastly different in size.
If SE are in as tight with Google as they say they are then Video Calling is a possibility as Gingerbread supports it.

Well I am sure will not repeat the mistakes it made with the X10 next year with the X12. I am hoping the X12 will be amongst the first to be upgraded to a newer OS version
And that is quite likely with and Google working closely

Since the camera module has now changed from 12 mp to 16.4 mp with Xenon flash, I am sure its now thicker than the 10mm it was supposed to be. Maybe 13mm or 14mm thick now? Considering the satio with 12mp and xenon flash is 13mm thick

Disagree
16.4mp
16gb internal memory
i dont think will add these things suddenly if they want to add these they will announce lately/deliver the handset late...
agree
12mp
OLED
1gb ram
Gingerbread OS
1800mah battery

Senior Software Architect for Android Development at has given some insight into the complicated work behind the development process.
U can read the above link for more details
"You cannot just download the vanilla version of Android and stick it into the handset. They first have to work with their component suppliers (flash memory, displays, and processors)"
So i highly dont think will add 16.4mp n internal memory. This will again DELAY the things |
