The problem with unlocking is not that it's not possible, but it's likely that it won't be possible with the DCU-60 cable provided with the phone. This is why it's taking a long time as I would think they are trying hard to find a solution. [addsig]

@All who want to unlock their k750i

Currently it is impossible to unlock the phone with DaVinci. The only way to do it is to get the unlocking code from your network provider. Usually they have a charge but I found a another way. Ring up customer service and tell them that you are going abroad on a business trip, and say that you have to use your company's SIM card for all calls abroad. Vodafone will usually transfer you to another person who will send the unlocking code via e-mail.

Mine was unlocked for free!!

Hi. Can anyone please post a picture of the newly unbranded menu screen. I'm on orange and still have R1A f/w. I wanted the orange branding off, but the pictures someone posted a few pages ago didn't look much better than mine, and my f/w is relatively stable compared to reports of R1J and R1L.
Is it worth the update yet?
Cheers

hi !

I have vodafone swiss k750i.. just for 2 days, but I can't anymore with those menus..

could someone tell if I'm right ? I would like to change it to generic switzerland..

actual CDA is : CDA102338/13
the one to take is : CDA102337/13 ? that's right ?

I have firmware R1C004, so it's worth changing it isn't it ?

also which firmware to choose ? K750i_R1L002_EU2 ? it's the same region that I have now ? it says "EU_2C" on my phone..

thanks if someone can help !!

@ Everyone

I'm on R1J LAM_2. When I first flashed my phone, I did not think about changing the CDA. As I plan to use SEUS in the future and I don't want to go back to the Chinese firmware, I purchased another Davinci log. A couple of questions:

1) LAM_2 includes US English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin Spanish. In previous SE phones, this was referred to as US2, and not LAM_2. Which would be the proper one to use under the "language variant name" option in the CDA tab in Davinci?

2) Is CDA102337/105 R1A what you guys have as the CDA for the firmware which contains the previously mentioned languages? In other words, is this the generic CDA for LAM_2 (or US2 if they are indeed the same thing)?

Thanks in advance, your input will be greatly appreciated!

@Tomaso

I flashed my phone using the LAM_2 variant of the R1J firmware and change my CDA to CDA102337/105 R1A, also change the language variant in DaVinci to LAM_2. When the flashing process finished I noticed that in fact DaVinci (or firmware) change the language variant to AMERICA_2 automatically, so I think that is the correct language variation you should use.

Hope this helps!

Alex, guys:

This is really bad!

Reflashed my phone with R1J LAM_2 and changed CDA to CDA102337/105 R1A. Checked SW version after update and everything seemed fine (Will post pics if anyone is interested) CDA was changed and so was firmware. This is where it gets bad: when running SEUS, to verify the authenticity of this CDA, I checked the files under C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data SEUS downloads HL1_125955-HONGKONG-MR1_000000_0000_R1J002

This means that even though CDA is now CDA102337/105 R1A, SEUS still downloads the old HK customization. What the heck is going on? This is my second Davinci log and the entire reason why I reflashed my phone. Any ideas???

Tomaso, there is already a R1L version for LAM_2 at DaVinci???

By the way, I think that only changing the CDA won't work when updating through SEUS, I read in another post that it also checks the phone's IMEI, take a look at this:

@ z3ky

Yes and yes.

You can flash with the K750 firmware and use the K750 CDAs, effectively creating a K750 handset. [addsig]
