@zainman. Yes its sad man. But its pakistan and every one miss use power which he has in hand. As an example If you have friends in ufone and mobilink they tell you the address of a number or numbers issued on some address and all this kind of stuff. Which they are not supposed to tell. So if you are in pakistan try to stay out of trouble. @ Basit. Yes man you are right. Ufone was supposed to put there booster in centre of city but they put it on one side near rhanji. So on one side signal is good on the other side of city i mean boys college side the signal is poor. I live on the boys college side. At my home also one or two signal some times some times half. But i use 6600 and on one signal voice of call is smooth and gprs also works. So do not trouble me much. But you are right over all ufone signal suck in daska. But we have no other option on gprs yet in daska. Hope some day mobilink also start its gprs for us or telenor or warid come in daska. Regards. Umer

@umerhayat yup man ufone really disheart me here, I live near mission compond in Dask. You are right they put their booster in Ranjhai 4-5 Km. away from here. On the otherhand Mobilink and Paktel put the boosters in the city. Even in basement the mobilink cant drop any signal some time only one signal drop. Some one told me that in past when Ufone planed to cover the Daska the place which they choose was too much expencive and out of their buget so they cant put the booster here , I mail their coustmer care a lot of time about this situation but they never reply. Anyhow may be some day they realise this situation and take action abt it. bye have fun.

@Abdul Basit. Yes man you are right. Its a very bad situation. But my cosin live near the canal and he always have full signal. 8 or 10 days ago his signals droped on inquiry he find out that ufone is putting a boooster in city and they have off the Rhanji booster. But he was not sure that if both booster will work or only one. But people from there area called on help line so much that after one or two days ufone activate the Rhanji booster again. But thats all he informed me about.
And yes you are right Mobilink signal is very good in daska city. tis so strong that our village is some 8 km aways from daska and there also one or two signals of mobilink comes.Paktel signal also very good. when i am at my home on Jamshaid Road then here also Pakatel signal full. when i go to my cosins on other side of city there also paktel signal full
Although its a very local signal discussion. but hope no one will mind

Hi. Last day I bought a telenor scratch card and when i was scratching it. Its two digits got rub as i was scratching with my room key. I always scratch cards with that key but the jazz and ufone cards are of plastic and solid so digits do not get deleted. so i hope telenor also soon start making that kind of scratch cards. So as two digits were not clearly visible. but i could see they were 00 or 66 or 88 or 68 or 86 LOL. so i was trying all of them one by one and after some tries i got the message that my scrach card loading service is blocked. so i called help line and they told me that its blocked because you was entering the card number wrong again and again. so now i have to go to some telenor franchise today and they will fix my problem soon. i hope so. Also load me balance of the 250 also Lol.
So thats the shit which happened to me last day. Hope every one learn a lesson from my experiance and scrach the telenor cads carefully. as they are very fragile.
Regards

I had to go to the head office of the telenor in the fsd which is very far from my place but there they unlock my scratch card reload and also give me scratch card replacement. So i am cool now. Regards. umer

hi mates!!
whats ur reaction to today's downward revision in the rates of prepaid- telenor package:
Call rate: Rs 3.45 per min
SMS: Rs 1
How does it compare with other networks providers?
Yesterday i went to mobile fair held in Islamabad organized by mobilink and was shocked to know that it was not free, the charges were:
Adults: Rs 20
Children: Rs 10 (including infants!!)
It was pathetic by mobilink as usual, they dont believe in any goodwill gestures to their customers either!!!
I think they must have made more money form the tickets than they spent on the organization of the event. Poor stuff once again from a selfish company

@SE7: The 1 rupee sms is to all networks?
And talking aboutt he mobile phone fair. I was watching it on TV. The girl was interviewing people. At the end she asked what do you think of mobilink. The guy replied: "Its my favourite, connectivity all the time, satisfation all the time."
And I changed the channel.

This decrease in call rates is like joke with users. Sms rate is although acceptable because the reduction is 50 percent in it. But still a long way to go to compete with the warid call and sms rates . Regards. Umer

@radarblip609, this SMS rate is flat, i.e. applicable to all domestic SMS sent.
Telenor is a huge success, and their innovative features like life time free package, easyload etc are all very useful. They are growing like a plant just like their CEO described earlier in an interview!
Few days back, someone wrote in the letter to editor of daily DAWN that when he tested 30 seconds billing system of warid, it was to his gr8 surprise was not working, after trying to contact the helpline and others (in which he couldnot succeed) he throw his SIM in drain. this is what he wrote in his letter.
Right now the biggest problem with warid is their signal problem, and to their surprise despite having most economical packages (on the face), they have not had any luck in selling their connections like Telenor did in mid March!!
@umerhayat, the SMS rate reduction is 33.33% not 50% by telenor, but i think that it compares well with warid coz they offer Rs 0.50 for only on-net i.e. from warid to warid only and on other networks, the rate applicable is Rs 1. Lets see if they intend to reduce the tariff of post paid package also, and whether any new packages will be announced soon or not.

Regarding radarblip609's query regarding internet browsing on Mobilink I share my views.
I have an i-mate pda2k with pocket internet explorer and netfront 3.1 installed.
When browsing directly from my phone I get speeds upto 23 kbs(kilo bits per second which is around 2.9 kilo bytes per second). However this is the peak but the average is not more than 18 kbs.
For comparision I have also used Telenor which gives me peaks of around 35 kbs and average of 30 kbs.
Finally my experience with Warid is that this is the fastest. At times with Warid I have been able to peak at even as high as 50 kbs but the average is nowhere less than 40 kbs.
I have no experience of ufone.
While browsing through my i-mate directly I have checked these speeds through a special software which I have installed on my pocket pc. As for speeds that I get while browsing on my PC connected to my i-mate via bluetooth dial up connection I have used the McAfee Internet Speed Checking Site.
I hope my remarks will be useful and will generate some useful discussion
Regards to all and live in good health
