Noticed another thing recently..
In the voice recording menu, you see the meter where it's shown how much of the memory is full (it is like this on all software versions)
But next to the meter (on the right hand side), the number there isn't time left to record. It's total time that can be recorded if the memory would have been empty.
To check time left to record, you have to press the option button, then time left.... yep..

john74> Well.. don't know.
I don't remember how long recording time there was on the "old" software.
As it is now, there is enough memory to record 1879seconds, IF there is nothing memory consuming stored on the phone (pictures, melodies, themes and so on), So in reality, there's no chance to record 1879 seconds (about 30 min). Cause that would mean no pictures (there are 57 stored with the software (can be deleted)), no themes, and the themes stored can't be deleted.
Anyway.. I have about 15 minutes left to record (921 seconds) and I have 591kb left in memory.(71 pictures stored:) )
So the memory is quite a lot bigger, compared to the "old" software.

actually the software is capable (just play around with the phone with the headset plugged in then you will hear all sorts of fun sounds) but the t68m & i lack a "real" speaker to play them loud enough to hear without headset unfortunately |

SO can someone give us a good idea what's the big deal about MMS? I'm having a little difficulty appreciating why you're so anxious to get the T68i upgrade? |

the individual has a point. Sure there are a lot of really cool things that come with the 68i software for the 68m users like new icons, longer voice memos, having personilized pictures for callers, using mca 20, etc. However, how many providers will allow users the MMS functionality. And how many people can recieive MMS messages, you know. I guess all the 68 users can send MMS to one another, but what about our friends and family who are stuck in the SMS quagmire. Furthermore, as the person in question is locatred in the US, we should further cool our heels as GSM techniology is not as important herre as in other parts of the world. Granted, I love it but it is not as important as TDMA, CDMA, and AMPS here. Jan, I believe you hoped on a train to get a flashing before. Well, that is not realistic for many of us here as the service center is not conveniently located close to us. ElGato, you jsut have incredible car buying luck. I think that the person in question is correct and ElGAto is correct. There is a lot to look forward to but it is not worth gettying anxious over. We have all read the website a hundred times, upgrade will not be availbable in all markets. Somehow, I sense that the USA will be one of the last places to have the software available so I'm not going to get worked up over it. When it comes, great. While I'm waiting, I still have the coolest phone the most people have ever seen...with my girlfriend as wallpaper:-) |

shawnmccall9> You're right!
But the thing is, we call the upgrade "mms", cause that's just easier than saying something else.
But I don't think that many people are waiting for the upgrade just to get mms, in fact I don't think many even want the mms avaliability.
I didn't care about it, but then I got the upgrade and saw how it lookek. And it looks really cool, with soundeffects, animated screens and so on.
But that's it. It looks cool, but there's not much more to it.
Even if my operator would provide it, I wouldn't send any mms messages.
It's just too hard to make a message, you'll have to spend at least ten minutes to make a decent looking mms.
So it's not going to be "the next thing".
Sms is way faster, and easier. And ems is comming more and more, which is also easy and fast to use.
But mms is nothing to be anxious about, it's the other stuff that comes with the software.
Probably it'll take some time before the software reaches the states.
But as you say, you don't have to long for the upgrade, cause what you have now is more than enough.
People here are just restless, because they know that the software will be released. They know that there is another t68 with the software being sold.
Think of it this way.. You have a bird, proud mother of 4. The mother tells her four children that she'll fly and get some maggots.
While the mother is away, another (bastard) child comes along and takes place in the nest.
Soon the mother arrives with a nice big maggot, and feeds the new kid.
Then she takes off again and tells her four children that she'll be back week 16
Week 16 arrives, and the mother now tells them to wait 'til next week.
This procedure happens every week.
So you got four hungry little kids crying for maggots, feeling badly treated cause the bastard kid got their maggot.
Something like that..
Then you got the little bird who left the other three birds to get a wing, and the bird who sold the wing to the lucky little bird happened to work with maggots.. so he got the lucky little bird a nice big maggot of his own. This didn't excactly calm the other small birds down, when the lucky little bird came back to the nest flashing a big juicy maggot in his beak.
I don't know really how the story ends... will the mother bird come back with some maggots.. or will something happen with mother bird on the way back to the nest?...
Nobody knows.. but let's hope it'll be all swell that ends well..
Nightie night

if you press the yes button, then you will get a list of the last 30 or so phone calls you made, received, or missed. All three have different symbols so check it out. Works well |
