...is it a SIM free K500 ?
i bought a SIM free t630 which wouldnt do anything on Voda ..but works perfectly on O2 !
the same happened when i tried to configure my mates SIM free K700 & S700 to work whilst they were on hol here no chance ..Voda would not work for them but O2 worked fine.
...do you think that Vodafone live phones have some loaded 'cookie' that allows only them to work on Voda? |

Your problem is simple to fix. Your on Vodafone! Voda rewrite firmware for their "live" handsets making such tweaks as removing mp3 ringtones, disabling IR. Why do you think the f/k500 has no bluetooth. Vodafone wouldnt stand to making much money out of ringtones,pictures etc if folks could share what they have!!
What you need to do is dump voda and use a proper network.Connect to 02.Its like what deafgoat said,his t630 didnt work properly on voda but it did on o2.

guys im thinking of changing me network,im on vodafone ready to go @ d mo.and it cost way too much!! and the many o me friends are on meteor and i cudnt send em mms....even if it said SENT ,they never receive it!!!!
pity the free txt 4 life is ova tho |

I used to be on VF and hated all the 'Live' ballox. I recently went over to O2 and have found it amazing ...everything works ...MMS from Fance back to Ireland ...even the gprs roaming has worked in France, Czech Republic, Canada ...and ..Wales ...and their roaming charges are far much better. Only downside is on Nov 8th my text bundles no longer include international ones ....but i can still send free int texts from www,o2.ie they seem to have a good selection of SE fones on payg as well |

I'm Taiwanese by birth so my adoptive parents kept part of my name - it causes alot of confusion down here in dublin - no one expects me to speak with a northern irish accent. Are you sure free txts for life on meteor is over? They are still doing the free sim deal with €100 credit |

Neil. me irish aunt adopted a girl from china too,and they kept her whole name too but they often just call her by her Eng name...
Taiwan,,u ever been der? im from HK,just came to Ireland around 4-5 yrs.Northern Ireland accent eh?me accent's very unstable...eg. after i watched American movies,i talk with a bit o american accent.after an eng film,a bit o eng accent....but bcos it seems odd to speak eng accent,my accent is very often Carlowish & Americanish,sumtimes..Mafia..=.=" jus a word or 2 tho ^.^
i went to Carphonewarhse and asked about it and they said it's already ova,so...but the ppl that has it b4 are able to keep the free life txt.

anywho,is there anyone using Meteor with their SE fones??
and cud O2 send mms to Meteors?? cos Vod cant!!!sumtimes it says MMS SENT...but while i click status..it says:unknown!!
but me credz will be gone tho...=.="
and when i get an MMS from me friends i gotta go online for em,and i cant even save em to me PC!!

I thought those cross network issues (MMS) had been sorted out! It shouldn't be too hard to get hold of one of those sim cards, ask a few people. I've been with meteor (originally for roaming purposes) since 2001 so when i top up by 20 i get 12 bonus credit! As for taiwan - i was back there this summer for the first time!

@Neil .cool~but do u speak mandarin?? u see,VF has a 300 free txt from internet thingy and because i have broadband it's actually good for me.O2 i dnt know,and Meteor is 9c per txt.
but i spend most o me credz on WAP,meteor+VF are the same 13c.anyone knows O2's price?

Got my MMS problem fixed, turned off my phone overnight,
Sent a MMS to myself the next day problem solved 
I guess a message got stuck somewhere in the GGSN and stopped me from downloading messages.
Didnt need to put on dirty vodafone firmware either.
Still cant access graphical Vodafone Live! wap page,but I can live with that. |

Talked to VF at the weekend, they were showing the Motorola 3G phone, Had a play around with it,
They said the SE V800 will be out before xmas for 319e |

3G !! where is 3g available ? i read on the bbc website http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/business/4059753.stm that 3G yet hasnt taken off in the UK ...which has a population of over 60million ...will it work for a country that has 4million ??
