Why is the grass shot so dull on the Xperia?? Looks washed out little colour or contrast

Pictures from the xperia are a little more dull. I have seen it on my Acro S

This comparison is a waste. The 4 S is a year old and the T is not out yet and has a 13 mpix camera, and still the 4 S is better with a Sony sensor ??????

@goldenface: the KFC shot is better on the T simply because the exposure locked at the building which was the shadow part of the picture, hence the blown sky (highlight), I think it's a minor photographer's fault, as when you looked at the first sample where each camera locked at the same object they're producing similar output, just that the clouds are better rendered with the T.

@bonovox: what you just saw was the 4s pumping out more yellows and greens which makes the 4s's shot look livelier, perhaps the HDR function was kicking at that time to help with the saturation and it's easy to apply the same filter to the T's shot using photoshop. besides it seems to me T/TX/V cameras are moving away from saturated colors to a more pale but natural rendering which is easy to work with.

here's a reproduced Xperia T's shot with increased yellows using photoshop

however if there was one thing 4S cannot beat the T it would be the fact that the latter has more details regardless of its higher noise level, and there's that bokeh effect(has something to do with the combination of a larger sensor and aperture) which was pointed out by XB earlier.

take a look closely with this:

There's another new 13 mega pixel camera phone out now by LG and GSM Arena say it seems ok. Maybe something to compare to the Xperia T image wise

I'm with @goldenface the quality of mobile phone sensors peaked a few years ago and everything since then (higher than 5MP) is a bit of a gimmick. The quality has only improved 5 or 10% since phones like the K800 and K850.

What I'd really like to see is some of Scalado's tech (see Scalado Remove and Scalado Rewind they also have a cool panorama demo somewhere that does multi-direction sweep capture) in android either as apps or built into (preferably Sony) ROMs.

Unfortunately, Nokia bought Scalado just after they showed their cool stuff earlier this year and Nokia don't deal in android so I think it's unlikely that we'll see this tech on android anytime soon. It does, however, make me think that maybe a Nokia with a PureView sensor and Scalado tech would truly be awesome if it was packaged correctly and designed to be pretty.
I have a dig bick

Guys, just noticed something VERY strange.

I dunno if all of you have heard of GL Benchmark 2.5 HD. It's the latest GPU benchmarking tool that was released about a month back.
There are two off screen 1080p tests - Egypt HD and Egypt Classic.

Here's the confusing part.

In Egypt HD the highest score of any smartphone is 13 fps achieved by One X(Exynos)/Adreno 225/ One X S4/. But the Xperia GX that has the chip as One X/GS3 scores 21 fps !!!!!.

In Egypt Classic the highest score of Adreno 225 is 29 fps (One X/GS3 krait) and the Exynos S3 scores 57. But the Xperia GX scores 53 fps in this test.

Also it should be noted that the GX benchmarks lower than T/TX/V so T/TX/V scores will be even higher. I wonder how did Sony achieve 2x Graphics performance compared to HTC/Samsung using the same chip ???

In fact Xperia GX GPU scores are closer to Lg Optimus G with Adreno 320 than other devices with Adreno 225. How did Sony do this ??????????

@Rog

Would you be kind enough to download GL Benchmark 2.5 HD on your T and run Egypt HD Offscreen 1080p and Egypt Classic Offscreen 1080p ? Would love to know how much better the T scores over GX.

Thanks Rog, TX scores seem on par with krait S3/One X. Hmmmmmmmmm.

And the location based WIFI feature is available in the GX as well.
