Not before everyone has agreed which phone is the best!

The following are (those I know of) reviews of both cam by 3rd party. These websites has done actual review. I am disregarding those sites which regurgitate info. It is up to each individual to make up his mind which is better. For me, I know which is better.
What I can't accept are individuals who seems to totally ignore these reviewers opinions and then said their own "analysis" give a more accurate conclusion (and some of them dont even dare to post full-res photo )

We are disappointed by the Sony Ericsson K850 and how it performs as a camera. Really, considering it is the top Cyber-shot branded phone, it should be one of the best on the market, but the comparison with the old N95 and the G600 shows different things.
gsmarena.com
In this heavy-weight championship series the Sony Ericsson K850 managed to collect a total of 31 points, while the Nokia N95 managed to beat it by a slight margin with a total of 34 points. Those numbers are indicative only and you should give more weight to the results of the tests that matter most to you. It was a close call, but this time we prefer the Nokia model.
smape.com
Sony Ericsson were able to design a well-balanced 5 Mpix camera phone which isn’t bad at all at taking pictures but it has very few advantages over the N95 while the latter was able to beat its competitor in quite a number of tests.
phonedaily http://www.phonedaily.com/news/?news_id=6166
translated...N95 relatively stronger color and showing more (photo) details gives N95 a small win (over K850)
mobile-review.com
In all conscience I have to admit that the Nokia N95 over the past 6 months has become the most popular 5 Mpix equipped device, but the Sony Ericsson K850i is not only on its heels, it also surpasses it in the imaging department (that’s our only focus now).

go back through all the picture threads, you will see that very few people bother posting full res images. Are they also afraid? What about the K750 picture thread, the same, very few full res images, yet no one was ashamed of K750.
Yes, people were posting images in the same fashion. However, that comment is actually not accurate. Have a look at the proliferation of full res K750/W800 images in Esatos Mobile Phone Photo Gallery. People were also very happy to be showing full res exampes taken by the K750 in the Esato gallery. Why? Because the K750/w800 images also looked very good at full res. They didn't have to hide the imperfections by shrinking images. At smaller resolutions there is no advantage in the K850 images over the older K750/w800 images, none at all (except for flash photos). At full res the majority of the K750/W800 shots are much better and actually look real. Have a look for yourself - go through the Esato gallery, set the filter so you are only viewing the K750/w800 images. Look at each image at full res and you'll soon see how they don't suffer the graininess, lack of colour and lack of sharpness that affects the K850. Do the same with the K850. The K850 shots are awfull. Look at the water fountain picture - it looks good shrunken but at full res looks like a bad oil painting. It doesn't even look real. In fact, there is not one real full res K850 image in the Esato gallery that looks anywhere decent. This is very strange for a forum that is primarily dedicated to SE phones and frequented mainly by SE fans. I rest my case your honour. |

actually very interesting point and not a bad idea. so by any chance, would it be possble to comapre the same shot with k750, k800 and k850? lets say all those 3 mentioned models should make it in 2mp. then the last 2 models in 3 mp and k850 also in 5mp? in full res if possible ( i mean to upload and see )

I've just been browsing more images in the Esato Gallery. Have a look at this W800i image at full res:
http://www.esato.com/phonepho[....]make=sony+ericsson&model=w800i
This is a great photo. The dragonfly is so clear and you can actually zoom in on the full size image without too much loss. So far not one K850 image i have seen anywhere on the internet comes near to the quality you could get out of the K750/w800. |

What I would like to see is thread full of user photo's from the N95. I doubt it can rival photo's from "post pictures taken with your: sony ericsson K850" thread. The K850i thread speaks for itself.
This would be the best judge. If there is a link to a N95 thread with comprabile photo's would someone please post it.

Actually I was asking for a thread with photo's submitted by owners of the N95, not just one person... |

you absolutly right!!!! the k750/w800/w810 was the best camphone ever made by sonyericsson & i no that for for sure becouse i change my K800 with N73 thats offer mutch vivid color & sharp pic(not talking on the big screen & its simbyan) instad of "milky" & not sharp images by the K800.
i also still kiping my self my favorit W800 that is the best small camphone for me.
as for the K850 i thing its cam are worst then the k800.

i am not a technical genoius, but maybe fone acms ( according the actual technology ) are accepteable til 2-3 mp, and the cams over that limit, doesnt offer the same " hoped quality" ? i never made any pix ( even with digi cam ) in 5 mp format, totally pointless for me, i enjoy the same result in 3 mp too on a pc screen. so maybe the mobile cams are ok in max 3 mp, but when i look at on any 5mp mobile cam pix, all of them are really crap...

Sorry but I think I will have to disagree. I had the w800 and the K800 and I was just browsing through my photo's taken by both. I could never get a good indoor photo with my w800, a lot of noise, and to get a good outdoor photo, the light would have to be perfect.
With my K800 I would feel confident saying my photo's were 30% better than the w800 and 50% better indoors.
My K850 seems to do better in less than ideal light and has more foregivness over the k800. The flash seems a bit stronger and I was actually suprised with quality of the pic's with the K850i. I did not think I was really going to notice a difference, but there definitely is one. The video is far better but I really made the upgrade for the new browser.
Also and the screen is really clear. imo.....

@who say that the sharpness of the K850 is not that good
just check this pic
http://www.bof3d.com/up/get-11-2007-bof3d_combratojx3.jpg
if you want to take a good pic then learn how to deal with the camera
this is what I learned from my K850

my old k750 (cid36) take good outdoor pictures......but realy shitty indoor, low light.......k850 take better pictures IF you know what you do......(i have many k750, w810, k800, k810 pictures to compare with)
sure..the first k750 who came is realy easy to use in daylight.
i realy like k850...such a awesome screen, keypad,(D-pad), camera, battery life, realy fast & beatiful design.......sure, it need a upp date on the software for quite many people, (but hey....take a look at N95 when it came...he he...it was so full of buggs so you thought it was a joke)
-----------------------------------------------------
@DarKMaGiCiaN........yeh.......I/we/you have proved that for a long time ago

Being honest folks,
N95 wins this battle. N95 wins by default. |

wins ???????
after have seen this bad indoor pictures, flash pictures & panorama pictures from N95.....i easily say that N95 is worse on everything except for the outdoor pictures in daylight.....(N95 take often better pictures daylight in default...but if you know how to do with k850....they are similiar even in daylight)
N95 have no good allround camera.........(if you cant admit that, after have seen all beatiful indoor, low light, flash pictures from k850...its realy sad)
