If so, I may buy a SIM free one, and get a Simplicity Sim for £15 / pm, and get the £7.50 web bolt on. Would the Sim work in the phone though?

Cheers

You can't buy a sim free one, so you won't be able to get an o2 simplicity sim and put it in it. You have to activate the phone via itunes, part of the activation requires you signing up to an iphone contract.

As far as I am aware you will be charged 269 for the phone AND 219 for the priviledge of upgrading to an iPhone tariff plus your 35 a month.

Nice eh? Enjoy! An extra 219 to keep your number, glad I already have one lol.

Arnt they now offering a free upgrade if you've had your contract before a certain date?

I cant remember the exact date but im sure i heard if you'd signed upto a contract before September you'll be entitled to a free upgrade.

Im not 100% sure on this though.

hope so cos it would be a real kicker to have to pay an extra 219 to upgrade cos to be honest they can't justify it and there is not good reason for it.

Hope all u O2 guys can upgrade, but I will stick to using Orange lol.

Just found this on o2 website.

You'll need to start a new 18 month minimum term contract and pay for your iPhone handset but you can keep your existing number. So everyone will know it's you when you call them to brag.

* If you were an O2 customer or upgraded before 18 September 2007
You can switch to an O2 tariff for iPhone without paying any remaining monthly charges on your existing contract.

* If you joined or upgraded after 18th of September 2007
You have a choice, you can either:

(i) Enter into a second pay monthly contract whilst keeping your existing contract; or

(ii) Start a new contract by paying a one-off transfer charge of £219 instead of the remaining monthly charges on your existing contract.

O2 Simplicity and O2 Pay & Go customers will not be required to pay any additional charges.

Hmm after installing the latest customize app ive somehow managed to delete the ipod icon

ive tried every springboard theme + the default theme but no matter what if i have the ipod icon on the dock and have the dock set to 4 icons it will only show 3 as i think it lost the ipod icon.

in the menu itself it shows fine its just when i have the ipod icon on the dock itself.

Say if i click restore within itunes will i also loose the unlock and have to re unlock the phone?

Thanks

Doing a restore through iTunes won't relock the phone, as I have done this already afetr losing all of my icons due to an error changing theme.

MAKE SURE YOU RESTORE NOT UPDATE, 1.0.2, NOT 1.1.1!!!

I know you are probably well aware of that, but it never hurts to be over cautious lol.
