I guess it will be non-scretchable scree just as in k850, no point for not installing non-scretchable screen from SE.. the w960 is the highest model, so it's highly necessary for good all-over performance..

2,3-See it's oficial sopecs, I think yes.
4-It should:P

it mentions the shaker feature on the official SE websites though. if you go to the w960i page, and click on "walkman phone," you'll see the section on shake control.

this could be a mistake, but if it isn't, and it has the shake control, it's just another cool little feature.

This is gettin me really worried. The w910 has the shake control with music and gaming and the accelerometer. It also has the Walkman 3.0 version with SensMe™ to discover music by mood.
Also the whitepaper of w910 mentions the following:

Auto rotate
Capturing a portrait photo with a horizontal camera, usually results in a picture which must be rotated manually when viewed later, in the phone. Auto rotate is a new feature, which enables W910i to register how the phone is oriented when the picture is taken, whether it is held in portrait or landscape mode. This information is saved with the picture. When viewed, the picture is automatically rotated and presented with the same orientation as it was originally taken.

Macromedia® Flash Lite™
For impressive animated wallpapers,
and other graphic elements

Shake control
Shake control for music and gaming

Image formats and animations
GIF (interlaced and non-interlaced) WBMP, JPEG, PNG,
SVG. Animated GIFs, animated SVG and Flash. (both in K850 and W910 WP)

Someone pls temme that the W960 will feature all of this!!

I bet it does, and I wouldn't worry too much about it. When you read the white pages, its clear they are trying to do 2 different things. The w960 is trying to emphasize the touch screen and the better camera and 8 GB of storage. There really isn't any reason to mention the shake control, because at the end of the day you aren't buying this phone for the shake control, that is just a minor feature in the big scheme of things. The w910 however, needs to set itself apart from say, the w850, so it has to mention the smaller details like shake control because on a more medium end phone those things are important. There is no touch screen, wifi, 8 GB memory etc etc to fall back on.

Yes, they are(as far as I saw on the w960's videos
But still there is a main difference-symbian w960 and non-symbian k850, so I think it's quite normal to see better(as far as it can be said) and comfortable menus in w960 with that symbian+latest polish from SE

Oficially-Q4 2007 so thats October-December.. I think the launch will be for December, I want my suggestion to be wrong, but P1 is just launching.. They must give a time for P1 to sell some pices of it.. Cause w960 is much better in multimedia and outlook+the same specs and even better performance(guess so)

For the camera.. I don't buy phones for replacing the digital camera with them.. Thats a crap! This is a companies ways to increase their popularity and % market + to increase the phone's price.. Only cause of some chinese 5mpx CMOS sensor + chinese flash all in-one.. No thanks! Pppl that dont think with their brains buy such phones.. I buy smart phones.. Not for the camera, but for the office stuffs, e-mail stuffs, full web browsing with wi-fi/3g on the huge touchscreen with a stylus or jsut with fingertips! And so on..

Oh, I forgot the w960 whitepaper(I thinki no one gave a link for it):
http://developer.sonyericsson[....]MS.do?criteria=w960+whitepaper (it hase a security code, just write it correct)

Cheers

So does the W960s lens have an additional lens cover aswell? Or is it completley exposed?

The more I look at this phone the more I want it over the K850.

No, they are 100% without additional cover, but we must not forget that tihs is not a camera phone. The camera is just an extra stuff(I think the diods will be more usefull for some ppl like me:P), that is updated from the previous SE smart. I think most of the ppl wanting w960 won't use the camera, but the other functions.. Mobile phones' cameras are still not good, so more money for "better camera phone" is damn shitty work according to me(ofcourse thats up to users opinions, wants and views:))

I'm worried about the battery.. In the wp is written BTS-33 which is 900mah.. While the P1 is with the brand new BST-40 model, which is 1120mhz, and because of that w960's stand-by and talktime are alomost 1/3 worse than P1's.. BUT as far as I see P1 supports BST-33 and thats automatically means w960 supports BST-40, so If they don't put it in the retail package with w960 u can buy it for some little amount of money if u wanna:P

Some ppl worried about the lack of back button in the left side of the phone near the jogdial. Thats correct and the back button is just under the screen(as in previous non-smart SE models) I think it's position is still close to the jog dial, so I guess no big probs with adapting and working comfrotable for fingertips.

Same processor and ram, but we hope better 3D acc that will push more overall performance.

All in-one links for latest SE model's whitepapers(detailed hardware and software info for exact model in a .pdf):
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/home/p_home.jsp

Thats for now, regards.

P.s love this model
