You should be blaming SE's lack of TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES rather than saying SE phones have problems - every brand has problems with their phones. We could be here all day picking at every problem each brand has!
SE cant keep up with the largest mobile phone company which has a huge market share that brings the cash to offer excellent technological offerings. Its pretty obvious.
If Nokia were only a company for 5 years, do you think they would offer everything that they have now? Would they have the same large market share?

SE has taken over motorolla in a number of countries, it has sold millions of K750s, K800 and its W series were a mega hit. Where is the money they earned from those going? In T650, S500 and other uninnovative models? Money is not an issue. |

all their money are going into "uninnovative models" to get more money cos they are cheaper than high end models. Its like taking a step back to take a bigger step forward. More profit from mid end = more profit for high end phones. Thats y we havent seen anything high end this half of the year - because they are going to announce high end stuff later in the year once they know they have a good stable income from their now huge mid range. This is how i see it and entirely my opinion.

When or where have i ever even suggested anything as lubricious as Nokia release perfect devices? Simple answer is i haven't and No i am not happy that any manufacturer releases less than perfect products but that is the price you have to pay for being an early adopter.
The difference is Nokia release firmware upgrades quickly and resolve the issues within a couple of releases. SE has taken the best part of 9 months with UIQ3 and it's still not quite there yet either is it? which IMO is a very big difference. Yet again when we are discussing SE what relevance does what any other manufacturer do have, have you never heard two wrongs don't make a right.
Lastly this idea that SE is only 5 years old is just ridiculous yes this is how long the JV has been running but it wasn't a new start up that started from scratch it was a name change they didn't throw all the previous knowledge away and start again from scratch did they? or maybe they did and that's the problem.
Whilst we are at it i will state again that some of you that think i am this great big Nokia fan boy are just so wrong. I have been using Nokia's under a year bar the occasional device previously. Currently i am very happy with my E61 and not interested in the E90 as it is to business orientated for my needs.
Actually I am actually looking at the Motorola Q9 or the Toshiba G900 as my next device and the only reason it's not an SE device is they have nothing i desire and won't get any SE device when first launched again either. The P1 just doesn't have enough interest for me and my next device has to have HSDPA or will not even be considered so some Nokia fan boy then if my next device may not even be one.

Let me correct you there: there is no high-end model announced to release this year so what you say is 100% speculation. And when you're talking about stable income, i want to ask, how many phones does SE needs to sell to make 1 high end phone? Sorry but it doesnt work that way. |

I wasnt personally targeting you - my point is that SE are lacking in technological features and we could point out the many problems of SE but IMO, its the features that are making people think SE are becoming a dissapointment - they arent competing in the innovative technology area with nokia this year (so far).
And QVGA - like i said - entirely my opinion so im speculating. Im not certain at all just my thoughts. Theres got to be a few high ends waiting to be announced.

DAMN!!!!!!! This is a good thread.
Great comments all. It would be great to mail this thread to Nokia and SE and see what they have to say about it.
By the way Masseur, it may be getting a bit heated but it's cool. Lot of passion here. I just wish the manufacturers exhibited the same passion for consumer satisfaction.

"Sofia" will be out very shortly, rumblings are quite positive about it's attributes too, Be honest, In the UK right now, the P990i (for all it's faults) is £230 sim-free, what can compete with that at that price level!!

Are the specs for Sofia handy so that someone can post them and make some side by side comparisons?

Specs are known by some, but unfortunatly not allowable for public viewing at present, annoying i admit, N82 specs are known by some too, that also looks very promising, there is a lot to look forward to from various manufacturers before this years end.

he he he........now is the "i have the best cell-phone"-circus running.
I have a statement to declare; Nokia sucks bigtime, and Sonyericsson is the greatest. (yes i know, really childish of me, but im young in my mind).
