Hmmm... Well I want to flash my S500 to W580, but I've been hearing some things that the everchanging and day and night themes don't fully work; that the flash files for the menu and background and the whole changing layout & background thing isn't included in the theme file, and that it's within the S500 firmware directories instead.

For the people who have tried the everchanging and day and night themes on their S500's without it originally or on different phones, does it fully work?

I've had the phone for a few days now, and I love it, great design.
Has anyone ever tried any M2 cards larger than 1GB
The SE website says it only supports up to 1GB, and I was kinda of hoping to get some more space than that.

Well the K810i also says that it also supports only 1gb M2's, but i know someone who shoved a 4gb M2 on it and didn't experience any slowdowns either. (if you coudln't tell from that last part, it means that it works)

it will work on different phones but like a plain themes regular icons and plain background.

this phone have amazing sound quality . for all S500i owners here a small trick :
just send any defult flash themes from walkman phones (like: female line, grouped, orange bubbles from W850i . or citybeat, gsharp, musaic from W880i ) to your S500i then set it on your S500i after that play the music from media player then minimize the media player . bingoo now the phone will show the artist & albums & tracks names like walkman phones on standby mode .

Everchanging and Day and Night themes will probably not work if flashing the S500 to W580. The custom menus in these themes are in reality flash .swf files resident somewhere in the phone's firmware, not present in the theme file. Not sure about the backgrounds, but I think they're in the firmware too.

Themers may be interested in knowing that custom flash backgrounds are possible with S500 themes, whereas custom flash menus are not - at least not until decides to release the API. This could be quite some time, if at all, seeing as how one can really mess up a phone by not getting the menu right.

so we could build a theme with a flash animated wallpaper even for the more experienced programers our own everchanging wallpaper added to that the possibility to call the flash menu from the FW...I should try a flash editor!

First look: Sony Ericsson S500i camera review

The fashion S500i mid-range slider sports a two-megapixel camera. Mobile Choice wonders if it’s a case of happy snapping

As a mid-range slider with style ambitions you could forgive the Sony Ericsson for skimping on the features. But at this level the S500i makes all the right multimedia noises with a two-megapixel camera, microSD card slot for storage, full HTML web browser and a built-in music player.

Right now we’re going to concentrate on looking at the two-megapixel snapper. The lens is perched on the rear of the front fascia and you have to slide open the phone to reveal it. Sony Ericsson has clearly marked and allocated the top of the five-way navigation joypad as the only way to fire up the shutterbug.

my wifes theme, i think its day and night is really cool, the flower that was always there died last night and now loads of flowers are growing to replace it. Its a bit girls for me, but its still impressive and the wife loves it with all the butterfly's flying

perhaps with spring and summer this theme is girlish, but with fall and winter it will be more rude so more for us guys!
Anyway it's not a shame dear SE to make another astonishing theme fully masculine for the next FW

Just downloaded theme creator 3.17 and it has support for S500 (also W910, W960, T650 and others). Won't the everchanging theme function work with customised themes other that the supplied themes?

No SE theme maker will not show you the flash menu(icons) but will show you the classic menu instead even in the everchanging theme, somehow you can choose a flash animation as wallpaper! I think it's svg animations
