Not much other than to re-start the phone and make sure no other apps are running. |

What else do u have running at the same time? Try downloading swissmanager http://cellphonesoft.com/ to kill any other applications that might be running in the background. |

Has anyone managed to activate WorldMate Pro on their P990i?
The program installs in demo format but when I try to activate it, it fails to connect to the MobiMate server. |

Thanks for the reply Spawn.
Every time I try to activate WorldMate I get the error message "Connection failed. Check settings" but I cannot find anywhere In WorldMate to adjust the internet settings.
I found an option on the P990 in Internet accounts | Menu | Options | Preferred mode
that gave me the choice of Automatic, PS only and CS only. Not knowing what that meant I have left it at Automatic.
Did you have to set yours up in any way?
I've answered my own question. I've got several Internet Account Groups set up, including one for my office, my present location. However, WorldMate only looks at the account group "Internet". That account had my DefaultWiFiAccount, Dial-up account and WAP.
For some reason it skipped the first two and went straight to WAP which does not work with WorldMate. I've got around it by putting my office WLAN into internet but it seems to defeat the point of having internet account groups (at least as I see it)!
By the way, does anyone know what the options "Automatic", "PS only" and "CS only" mean?

@JEJOMA
I think if you set it to CS , it only connects to GPRS when needed and disconnects automatically, Automatic makes it search for GPRS all the time, however I don't know what PS is though.

MMS doesn't work if you have McAffee virus scan running in the background. the messages will be dumped straight to your draft folders even if the pop-up states that it's in the outbox. Shutting down virus scan corrects the problem. |

I must admit I consider virus protection a waste of time, memory and processor power. The whole point of Symbian 9 is to give protection to the phone. A visit to All About Symbian will give you their views on the matter. |

I agree with you, Virus scan was just one of those apps bundled with the MS and I decided to give it a try. I don't use it anymore. Just thought the info would be useful to those who still use it.

When ever I goto a shopping mall or places with many people , I usually get alot of Bluetooth connection requests from alot of different users.
I heard that these are phone viruses is that rght ?
One good thing about the Pseries is the phone always asks before we accept any files.

Firstly, they are unlikely to be viruses - more likely people Bluejacking. There currently are no Symbian 9.1 viruses are with the additional security in Symbian 9.x there are unlikely to ever be any.
Second, is there any reason why you keep your Bluetooth visibility switched on all the time? On my devices visibility is only ever turned on briefly when required.
IMO people who leave their BT on visible 100% of the time are asking for anything they may get - its a bit like leaving a Wifi network left open with no security. |

So you're saying that our P990's are safe in case of Bluejacking. I know a friend who accepted such a bluetooth invitation then his Nokia phone started to send everybody in his contact list lots of sms messages, whatever he did not work for him, so he went to Nokia shop to have his phone flashed with new software.
I thought such attacks could happen to us too.
BTW does anybody know HOW to enter the Password manager and manage the files there ?

Bluetooth always has been 100% safe. The problem is a combination of user stupidity - and manufacturers who set BT visibility to be on by default.
There were a few proof of concept trojan applications on older versions of S60 devices (ie pre Symbian 9.1), but Symbian 9.x introduces new security to help prevent malware.
Even before Symbian 9 both S60 and UIQ have always been pretty secure - user intervention has always been required for installation of potentially harmful .sis files and if you are stupid enough to accept a random .sis file from somewhere and then to install it IMO you deserve everything you get.
Besides, if you (sensibly) set your BT to not be visible, then nothing be sent you you from unpaired devices anyway.
