@p9nineo

if you kill the messaging process and then re-start it in FO mode the Delete Messages menu option will be available. When you start the Messaging app in FC mode and then later try to use it in FO mode the Delete Messages option does not appear.

I am just stunned that so many people are prepared to get ripped off in this manner, I agree with the previous poster all handsets should be returned ASAP this would send a message to SE to get it right.

I personaly would love a P990 & would be more than happy to be able to say to the business go ahead an buy it, but until its right I am not going near the damn thing!

Im just stunned that you feel the people who have bought the p990i are being or have been ripped off. What gives you the right to become all high mighty??, if you feel that strongly about it then ill send you my invoice and you can reimburse me...i think we get the idea that your not too fond of the p990i which is your opinion and rightly entitled to it. Just like we are entitled to our opinions about Nokia or SE products.

Im afraid your rantings and ravings about how poor a product the p990i is are falling on deaf ears....says alot i guess. Seems to me that most if not all people are quite satisfied with their p990i's.

High and mighty? No, my opinion yes and dont I have every right to express it in just the same way as you have done?
Refunds, Let the company that sold you a product you have to play around with to get to work pay you back! I could see the problem comming in advance so I did not waste my money! but if your happy with what you got then good luck to you mate. Personaly I expect much more for my money dont get me wrong I love the P990 but I do feel that they have not been fair with their customers, I am actualy on your side mate!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

I updated mine with latest FW. Overall faster response time. I didn't play it much but at least, sound recorder is not working properly now - it sometimes records sometimes not. Also the timestamp of the sound file in file manager is a few hours off from actual recorded time - quite strange. I used the recorder in a meeting this morning. It started recording, but when I checked after about 70 minutes, the recording was still going on but the elapsed time was only 15 minutes. I don't know how to feature it out. When I stopped recording, the system said that the file is corrupted and I lost the recorded file. Totally non-sense. I reset the phone and the behavior of the recorder is the same - it records sometimes sometimes not. If I repeat new recordings it sometimes crashes and the screen freezes. I can turn it off sometimes, I need to remove battery sometimes. Do you observe similar thing on your phone? BTW, I have 2GB memory stick duo in the phone with mostly free space so enough room for recording hours of sound.

I believe someone mentioned bold text in the task manager after the update. I have found that the type of text depends on how you start the phone. If you turn it on while flip is closed, the text will be bold in both FC and FO task managers. If you start the phone with the flip open, the text will be normal. I have tried this a few times, and this seems to be the case. Is this true?

Anyone got a hunch of the time for the next FW-upgrade? The first one came only 9-10 days after I got the phone... "Will there be another one after 20 days? Hehe...

No idea, but the new FW update better come soon because the latest one did not do much to fix the P990's many (too many!) bugs. This phone has a lot of potential, but it's far, far from being a smooth operating machine right now. SE better wake up and smell the coffee - or I am switching to another brand (I have been an SE owner for 7+ years now).
