There have been so many concerns about this phone... I really hope that this phone surpasses our expectations and becomes a hit like the K750i, or else SE will lose some serious trust.

K800 looks even better when you read the complete specs. The only think I dont really like is the camera lens cover which makes the phone a little bulky. Owning a w800i and several memory cards I would have preferred that they kept the MSDP card slot instead of M2 |

@Xema
I agree. Although all technology has to start somewhere, SE should have thought it through more thoghroughly and should have started developing the M2 in increased sizes, to at least 2GB before making their entire porfolio dependant on the M2 cards.

According to the whitepaper, the K800i supports 2GB M2 sticks.
Main disappointments for me:
- poor QCIF video recording resolution
- no ability to save SMS to M2 stick
- smallest picture size from camera is VGA

Good thing is that it supports h.264 .

No, but 1000 SMS + available space on SIM should be enough for most users I think. |

1000 text is good, im happy with that, that might have just swung the pendulum back towards the k800 from the n80

Looks better and better this phone. I was considdering getting a w900 since my gf hazzels me about getting a new phone (so she can get my d500 instead of my t68) but now I will defenitly battle for her to hold of untill k800 been released for a month in sweden (price drop is always huge first month about $100 w900 dropped first month).
Alot of ppl seems conserned about video recording, I'm not atleast conserned with that I only care about videoplaying since I like to reencode music videos and put in the phone (NERD - Lapdance unsencored always being recored for my new phones hehe)

Well, from the general idea i get from other people on other websites, 1000 is nowhere near enough.
Many people want unlimited storage, and often have 2500+ sms stored on their phone. I know i dont need that for sure, but it would be nice knowing its unlimited.

I would say opinions in forums like this one are not exactly representative for the wast majority of users owning a mobile phone (its not reliable statistics).

Most people don't even keep that amount of e-mails on their PCs, so why would one want to store several thousands of SMSs on a phone ? Its not like you gona find the information you are looking for in an easy way once you need it.
The only reason I have seen why anybody want to be able to store unlimited amount of SMS messages is because the person in question found it was "hard" work to delete SMSs messages. But that can be solved with a circular queue where the oldest message is automatically deleted when more space is needed.
I can however see that once and while one may want to copy/move few SMSs from SMS storage to memory stick for permanent storage. But that has nothing to do with the size of the SMS inbox.

like email on the computer, peeps want to have the whole history of their sms on the phone for all time. I personally like to archive my sms after 500-600 or so messages onto my computer using MPE.
These features seal the deal on K800 for me:
3G
3.2MP camera
1000 sms limit
2x Java apps can run simoultaneously
WMA, WMV and Real support
