yep, some lines aint ment to be crossed - like murder, rape, etc.... but drawing cartoons?
If a muslim did this then id say its disrespectful (as its their beliefs), i simply feel people are making a mountain out of this.... If they dont like it, dont read the bloody cartoon.
I know many muslins who go against their faith all the time with drinking and drug abuse.... its that crossing the line? |

Just trying to understand what 'lines taht are not ment to be crossed' are interperated as....
Personally i think whats your belief - is yours... and no cartoon etc should affect that... isnt there more important things to sort out than a cartoon? |

I can't help wondering if all these rules and things coming from a book has somehow perverted the actual meaning of the religion?
What I mean is what would Muhammad himself have made of this row? Would he be mortally offended, and demand the death of the cartoonist, and that Denmark and the whole Western world should burn?
Or not? Would he just laugh it off, or simply say, 'that is not acceptable, I would prefer it if you showed my and my way of life some respect and not do anything like that again', or something of that ilk?
The same goes for other religions too. If given the chance, I feel a lot of these prophets would have some kind of sense of humour to some of these things, being able to laugh at yourself imho is another factor in making onesself humble.

Why are the muslim papers now attacking in the jews? I know theres some bad history but read some passages on this site
http://www.islamchannel.tv/In[....]duction.aspx#Other%20Religions
Christians and Jews hold a special place in Islam. They are called the People of the Book (Ahl al-Kitab), since the original Torah and Gospel were also divinely revealed and they shared in the prophetic tradition. Islamic states have nearly always shown their religious minorities tolerance and respect and those communities flourished under Islamic rule. God says:
"...Those who believe (in the message of Islam), and the Jews, the Sabaeans, and the Christians - all those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and act righteously - no fear shall come upon them..." [5:69]
And to all the terrorists read this
"Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of the religion, or by those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. At the same time, Islam requires one to treat one's enemy mercifully. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees, and livestock. Islam also requires that if an enemy declares his desire to end hostilities and seek peace, the Muslims must do the same."
See that, prohibitions against harming civilians!
Also, and probably most interestingly
The Prophet also said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should say something good or keep quiet."

Totally agree with scostboy, gelfen, and slattery.
Axxxr and others are just trying to justify violence towards someone with somebody elses beliefs, which is tottally un-justifiable.
WHAT IF my belief was that guys who use nicknames with 'x' should be shot because it reminds me of the Jesus Christ cross and should be not used in a pagan way.
You would have to respect that, because that is my belief...
See waht i mean? You have the right to be offended, and you have the right to protest as long as you don't prejudicate others.

That rule would only apply to him if he were Muslim.

Muslim children are taught about the prophet in madressahs around the world!!!

Non-Muslim children aren't. It seems to me that an effort to try and educate children about different religions and beliefs is a good thing. Hence I think a book that teaches non-Muslim children about the Prophet would be a good idea.
