Fyi, I just got my bill from Globe. I haven't used my unit as GPRS modem, it's purely for browsing over wap. Guess what! They charged me for GPRS! Globe charges GPRS NOW!!!

globe will charge if you use gprs for anything other than wapping (e.g., using the mail client on your phone), according to the globequest guy i talked to before.

i also just got my bill. and it now contains some line items concerning gprs usage. i supposedly did 4000+ kb of wapping during the past billing period (doesn't seem to match my counters though). it would have cost a fortune if there was a charge. thank goodness wapping is still free! =)

hello, this is my first post, so forgive me if I ask a question that has been asked for the nth time. I just got my T68i about 2 weeks ago and gprs, wap, and mms are pretty new to me.

tinry ko i-search yung question ko, pero grabe, ang haba-haba na nung thread (?), abot na ng 13 pages eh hindi ako ganun ka-tyaga magbasa. besides, sa office ako nag-i-internet =) . so eto ang mga tanong ko:

1. magkano ba talaga ang rates kapag pumunta ka sa myglobe? sa esato? ano ba yun, per minute or per byte that you download? kung per minute, do peak and off-peak rates apply?
2. nagpunta ko sa globe center at sabi sa kin ng CSR, i get charged 3.50 for every email that i rcv in globextm. kainis! totoo ba yon? baket as in hindi yon nakalagay sa website nila, or sa flyers nila?
3. if i send sms with pix (yung mga icons na gumagalaw na makikita sa myPictures sa phone), considered ba yon as plain sms? or may extra fee?
4. medyo stupid question, pero di ko talaga alam sagot: ano ba talaga yung bluetooth? do i have to buy that headset para magamit ko yung feature na ito sa phone ko?

thanks!

@nice
welcome to ESATO. (since you're new, I'll turn a blind eye on this)

1. P0.50 per Kilobyte. Sabi ng globe may-cha-charge na daw cla, pero hanggang ngayon wala pa naman lumalabas sa billing statement.
2.
3. when you insert those objects (pictures, animations, sounds) into a message, your message is now called an EMS. an EMS may be composed of several SMSs, depends on the size of the objects and the text.
4. bluetooth - a wireless connectivity option similar to Infrared. Do you need a headset? No. You can use bluetooth to connect to another device (a phone, a BT-enabled computer, a PDA, an accessory like a headset, etc)

jr-
What's your phone?if you're using a nokia, there's a letter G on the upper left part of the screen (for GPRS)...if you're on a GPRS connection...

& WAP over GPRS connection is faster than Wap over GSM/CSD

@higher: free pa rin ba sa globe hanggang ngayon? i noticed pare recently ang bilis maubos ng load ko. i guess they are already charging wap access thru gprs. btw, i'm using pre-paid pala!
