evening all. Got aother query, I was on the apple site taking a brows after jools told me about the new 17" macbook pro (luving that) and saw that using address book and bluetooth there is a way of sending texts from your mac using your phones bluetooth connection. After scouring the apple site I can't work out how to do it, and I can't see anything obvious in address book so im kinda lost. Google found me something called smsmac whcih is all well and good, but i want to do it through my phone, I don't suppose you know how to do this do you?
Cheers Luke

To send a text all you do is right click on the mobile number in Address Book and choose "Send message" from the menu.
That's after pairing your phone and clicking the bluetooth icon in Address Book.
Trouble is, Apple have been a bit slack in adding new phone support, so you may need to look for an Address Book hack. www.macosxhints.com is a good place to start.
But, I think only Sony Ericsson phones are supported...

cheers jools, I have it kind of working now, I just repaired my phone and it seemed to send a text, but the 2 I tried to send before that did not seem to get delivered... Also it doesnt seem to have the reply thing - shows recieved messages work on it.
Also another thing about wireless etc, I have a roku m1001/m1000 and I want to control it with itunes, after looking on google I found a program that allows this, but its only for itunes, are there any for mac os or is it just one of those things people don't make?

The macintosh hd icon has disappeared from the desktop on my macbook, and in finder preferences the box is ticked to show hard disks etc etc in the desktop.
Any idea why it is not showing up?
Thanks

Is it showing up in the sidebar when you open a Finder window?
Try restarting and repairing permissions in Disk Utility.

Hey Jools, could you recommend a program to make copies and burn DVD's..Don't worry I'm not talking about commercial DVD's. I just have some home made DVD's that i would like copy on my Mac and burn couple of extra copies. |

Roxio's Popcorn 2 and Toast 7 will do that for you.
Toast 7 does all that Popcorn 2 does plus more so is the better choice.

Right I have a problem for ages and cant work out whats wrong. Basically my photo isnt working right. It opens up, but when you double click and it should go to the edit screen with the slides along the top it just has a blank white square. To fix it I have completly removed iphoto using appzpapper, then reinstalled it, but nothing. I have also tried to reinstall it but still does the same thing. It is really really annoying.
anymore ideas jools?
O yeh also deleted the file "com.apple.iphoto.plist" as online advice suggested

iPhoto: you could try rebuilding the iPhoto Library using the guide here. Does it do it on all photos or just some? If its just some what format are they in.
GC75 Card: There are some Mac modem drivers for that card here so I guess it is! It also says on that site that for EDGE nor GPRS to work the cards firmware has to be updated. The guy who runs that site is quite helpful so he may have more info about it.
