Is the phone locked to o2?

How many times has this been asked now ?

No, its not, O2 dont lock their phones. The only phones O2 do lock are phones like the O2 X2, the XDA, and the XDAII. Phones which O2 have branded as if they made them.

Phones made by companies like SE, Nokia, Moto.. etc O2 never lock.

Well i went into CPW, The Link, Phones4U and a couple of other phone shops today trying to get myself a K700. Nobody has the phone yet.. whys it taking them so long when O2 have managed to get their hands on it !?

@ajhard: You can find the firmware version of your phone in the Service Menu.

On the SE T610 you find the Service Menu by entering the following key sequence:

    > * < < * < *

where < and > are joystick left and joystick right, respectively.

Then select Service info followed by SW information. And there you are!

I don't know if the very same key sequences and menu selections applies for the SE K700 as well, but it might perhaps be worth a try... .

I don't know which the latest firmware version for the SE K700 is. Maybe someone else can help you out with that one... .

hi, guys, wanna ask you some question about K700.

1. is there any specific folder to store any special/important sms?
2. is there any display's contrast/brightness adjuster in the settings menu? last time i play with this phone, i kinda missed checking this one.
3. is it possible to add a home address to a contact?
4. is there any contrast/brightness adjuster in the camera menu?

so sorry if the questions have been asked before. hope to find answers soon. thanks.

1. Yes you can create a new folder for special SMS
2. There is a brightness adjuster in the settings
3. Yes that is now possible, you can add numbers to home, mobile, work, write a small comment about that person and a lot of things... god so many things you can do now....
4. Yes, brightness but no adjuster for contrast.

I got the 3 games(Super Real Tennis, River Riders & Darts), no USB cable(but I wasn't expecting that) the only 02 things that look like have to stay on the phone is a shut down screen and an 02 logo in the top left icon of the menu system instead of the Sony Ericsson one

@Mixin no it's not locked to o2 I just got a sim free one and put my t-mob sim card in it, only thing is it's got an o2 symbol on the desk top and it's got their gprs settings in it. I have just got to put the t-mob gprs settings in it.

You see id rather have the phone completely void of all operator logos, such as the O2 icon in the menu.

How much did you pay for the sim-free k700 from O2 ?

@AntonisCy:

In T610
- if mobile is ON then battery meter is full and green. Nothing more
- if mobile is OFF everything is completly off (when charging screen has a battery filling)

I assume K700i isnīt too different
