So who is the bright guy in sony who thinks: hey, we don't care about sales, let's release gx three months later in the rest of the world, we don't need a competitor to sgs3, one x or even freaking lg, our phones will sell anyway
maybe because of the takeover s(e) has become more japan-centric

sony just releasing the pretty much the same device over and over again is getting a bit old now....there isn't much I see in the way of innovation...the way i see it Xperia's days are probably numbered unless they come up with something exciting and innovative and not just repeat their portfolio! |

But the GX and SX are both very exciting. People on tech-blogs loved them |

I dont understand the negativity going on right now, whats "same" and wrong about water proof phones? I for one appreciate it, and people who have this as a priority had not many choices, and probably this is the high end phone as an option for people wanting a water proof/durable phone.
While they arent the most exciting ones, they certainly arent bad. Not everyone will go for a water proof device, having flaps even for 3.5mm jack would be a bit in convenient, but those who want to trade these things for durability, have one of the better options.
I have had a loss of over 1200$ by dropping 2 handsets in the water and that too less than 5 months after purchase... So i am considering acro s quite a bit right now..

The problem I have is with the Xperia Go; it would've made much more sense if it were simply a waterproofed Xperia U (like how the Xperia Active is a waterproofed Xperia Mini), but it's basically a device of its own. |

Yes and their losses are mounting, they are bleeding badly! Their shares are at a 31-year low:

I have a small OT question:
When are devices powered by the Qualcomm MSM8974 slated to launch? Is the chip already sampling or will it be in Q1 2013, thereby pushing potential devices to Q2/Q3?

So a 2-2.5 Ghz S4 quad core device in Q1 2013 could be a reality?

Yeah. I only expect such a device from Sony in Q2. I'm waiting for the GX/Mint.

Okay i do agree that GX and SX are quite nice, but I still say there is nothing innovative as such about them, infact SX has lost one of my favourite Xperia feature...the camera shutter key...so without anything innovative how do they differentiate from other manufacturers, performance wise SGS3 already beat them before they were released.
The only things they have going for them Style and UI (which is more of a personal preference, but I do think their devices look the best and have the nicest UI but other people may disagree with me there) |

well well well itseems Galaxy III uses the same Sony-made, backside-illuminated CMOS sensor that we've seen in the Xperia Arc
