A SEUS update, which you may only be able to do when the next firmware is released, should revert it back to O2 branding if the CDA hasn't been changed.

Having said that I can't see why you would want an O2 branded phone above an unbranded phone. Admittedly O2's branding is very light (especially compared with companies like Vodafone), but a totally unbranded phone is better than having one with service provider customisation IMHO.

Look at the first post. Apart from Voda and O2 no UK mobile updates to R1ED yet.

@boomam and presto

T-Mobile and Orange are the slowest of all the networks to auth the software to be updated.

Im sorry to sy that you could both be waiting another month and then again the networks don't even have to approve the firmware any way.

It will also be no good ringing the networks because they havnt got a clue what you will be talking about and then blame SE like they always do.

The only thing i can say is either debrand the phone or just keep trying to update.

I know this is not what you want to hear but its the only answer currenlty there is.

I Luv the Orange network, but hate there branding this is why i would rather pay for a sim free model

@ mwarner

The only reason I ask about getting the O2 firmware back is because I'm considering sending my phone back as the joystick problem I am having is becoming annoying. I'm worried they'll refuse it if I send it back as it is.

Have anyone of you in the UK ever tried to take your phone with T-Mobile branding to a SE Service Center? The SEUS and Wotan isn't the only solution, but definitely the most convenient.
I don't live in UK, but Hungary and I've got T-Mobile phone. Last week I've updated my phone to R1ED001 in a SC, but on SEUS still no T-Mobile branded R1ED001. So I don't think T-Mobile haven't accepted the R1ED001, but SE didn't put on their SEUS server.

@farkasg,

Wotan or DaVinci are the only options to un-brand your phone if this is what you mean. A certified dealer or svc point will not do it. They are legally bound to leave the branding in place.

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?
