Is this going to use the 12 megapixel sensor sony announced in November? Also, agree with Jack00, it wouldn't make sense for this to be branded as only a C series or W series as it's supposed to be the best of both ...

Actually, I can see where Jack00 is coming from.
Maybe they will create a whole new line and leave the business devices to be Xperia branded.
When you look at it, the Idou is very different from the X1 and I can't see the X1 coming under the Entertainment Unlimited umbrella.

@viper of course it will use that one!  remember sony's strict policy on hardware monopoly. though the HD video recording might be hampered by the fact that omap3 (assuming that this is what the platform idou is using) maxes out at D1 resolution.

Yes, as far as I understand it (and I may be wrong), idou won't be named a Walkman or a Cyber-shot but it will be under this new Entertainment Unlimited brand. That is, Entertainment Unlimited will sit alongside Walkman and Cyber-shot as a brand in the SE portfolio.
Good stuff from the announcement. I don't see why people complain when we've just been shown a Jesus phone. What did people want? Two Jesus phones? Get lost.

The SD slot doesn't mean nothing: sorry if I'm wrong, but in my memory, that crappy K850i also have a SD slot, and it's "home-made" (no pun inside  ) by SE.

As far as I remember SE did have "Dual Face" in it's ads a few years ago? Maybe they are taking this one step further and name this thing Walkman on the front and Cybershot on the back? Just a thought. |

And great competition for Nokia S40 6th Edition series phones just announced in November/December of 08 and last month!!
@Oli, I expected Idou to clearly show having both FastPort and 3.5mm headset jack; just like the SE W995 has. This is not too much to ask for; especially when this new :Unlimited Entertainment: (pst Emoticon needed ) emphasizes on No limitations and full capabilities of hooking up to your stereo or TV. I shouldn't have an expense proprietary plug to use such features or an expensive block to do so..

guys i thought having symbian open sourced would mean it would lower the cost of development of the platform. and that could open a new door for manufacturers to further expand the specs while keeping the price of the product still. thats why we have everything on idou and i assume the price would not be so high.
