I'd rather be first to get a new phone than be first to celebrate a new year...

Back to another topic which I think deserve a little more discussion: what about VGA video recording? Has this been confirmed yet?

I don't think there has ever been any doubt it would be QVGA. That's what the white paper stated and what the reviews have been mentioning too. The videos on YouTube are in this format too, and they are quite poor.

I heard a rumor that an SE employee put oh his blog that the newer version of the C905 now records in VGA. After doing some checking, I came across this video which if true would make me a happy bunny .

It was myself who found this guy on YouTube. It was completely by accident that I discovered him, but he clearly does not work for Sony Ericsson! I posted this 2 months ago:

It's the same garden where the 'C905 VGA' video took place. It's obviously filmed on his N82. Whether he uploaded it elsewhere, or someone else copied his video and did it, I don't know, but it's fake.

As I've been quoted as saying above, QVGA has been confirmed several times, by several sources. It is the final resolution I'm afraid

It wouldn't be so bad if the quality was very good, but leaked videos on YouTube in QVGA quality, are awful. Pixelated, and fuzzy. Of course, that's not to say that they can be trusted as real either! We'll just have to wait and see what the quality is like in the finished product.

The video capture part of the phone is a main selling point for me, if the quality isn't that good then I will resort to getting another handset next month.

Sony Erriscon really need to move with the times as the likes of Samsung & Nokia can record VGA at 30ps in mp4 format & The LG Viewty can capture VGA straight to divx at outstanding quality then people are bound to get the better handset.

It is all very well SE putting a tv out feature on the C905 but at qvga quality on a large screen is going to look really shoddy in comparison to the other handsets out.

As much as I like SE phones, I don't think they are doing themselves any favors by not incorporating VGA capture in their new range of handsets. I honestly feel that the new LG KC910 which is due next month will be the handset of the year as that has the VGA capture as well as the same flash as the SE C905 & has all the other camera features like face recognition etc etc.

Unless SE pull out something really unique in the final product of the C905 they are going to lose customers. Don't get me wrong I am a Sony fanboy, I have a Sony 50" LCD TV & PS3, and really was interested in getting the C905, but without decent video capture, I don't think I will be getting it .

Fresh pictures! Look quite good. If they just tuned down the noise reduction a bit...

The links don't work. Please post the pics instead.
Does anyone have pictures of the themes? Interested in seeing more of the flash menu screens.

Here's a pic of the flash menu of the Dusk Setting theme. (in case you meant what I think you meant)

Have just read the C905 white page & was horrified to see that the ISO of the camera only goes up to 400, which is rather low considering some of the other new handsets out, go up to an ISO of 1600.
