Wow, lets get back to reality. The X10 will be compared to every Android phone which is what we should expect. If the X10 were to be leaked today and not last year, a lot of the 'garbage' from this thread would be missing. In some ways it builds up a fan base but you get a more critical view from others as well.
The truth is that so far, there is no device which offers better hardware apart from a couple with a larger screen if you consider that the X10 has a massive screen anyhow.  will release updated software for sure, no doubt about that. About the screen, it is fantastic and very clear in the flesh. OLED has its advantages but seriously, you won't be able to tell the difference. 65,000 colours, just imagine all of them in front of you and tell me thats not enough for a good image. Your brain and eyes would not be able to tell the difference.
Many of the phones are so similar that you really should look at how differentiate their product. Think of what you can only get from an which is bound to get responses like 'late release' but on the other hand; top camera, distinctive design, Timescape etc. I have tried a few unannounced Androids from different companies and its very tight but, the X10 fits in the same bracket with the best of them without a doubt.
I personally am sick of and just a dislike the company in general, I'm needing a WM phone and the X2 simply sucks balls so that it. I will move away from them after MWC but the X10 is a fine device. I think the design alone will convince people to buy it. |

Badassman, apart from the confusion around sucks, that was a really good balanced post.
You expressed really clearly what I have been trying to say, the HW and FW side of the X10 is comaparable if not superior to anything announced, let alone available yet. Whilst the Supersonic thingy might have Wifi max on board, as someone who lives in a fairly rural part of the UK, this is of no use to me so 3G is fine ta.
I genuinely feel that the X10 offers the best mix of features, a good size screen, however many colours and the camera from my c905 the interface for which rocks and can only be made better by the touchscreen as far as I am concerned.
Now for all of you who have been quoting the version of Android as a potential dealbreaker, here's a little something I stumbled upon:

Whilst my French is a little rusty I'm pretty sure they're saying that the X10 has been delayed by three weeks because it's going to ship with 2.1. By their initial date of Feb, this would tie with the latest from Expansys of 22/04.
I for one am pretty chuft and getting more excited about this phone all the time.

why not release it soon with 1.6 then upgrade on 22/04?
wish that they just give an option to upgrade to 2.1 or 2.0. even if it's not free |

So now you started singing another song. Two weeks ago, you wonder how could SE release it with 1.6 and update it to 2.* later, instead to delay it and ship it with 2.1. It seems Sony Ericsson has listened to your wishes. Why did you changed your mind?
And delay for 3 weeks isn't that much. The release date will be 10 March instead 10 February.

i really don't care what version it's running... weather they upgrade it to 2.* or not... i'm gonna buy it!
just wishing they release it sooner
for me an upgrade is only a plus...but not necessary

I have to agree. If they are going to upgrade then it would be better to release it under 1.6 sooner and then upgrade to 2.0/2.1 I just dont want to see it released as 1.6 and then never upgraded. If this is to be the case then I would rather it be released with 2.0/2.1 |
