A few macros's and using the P1i's 'solarize' cam option (possibly one of these pics I'd consider for the esato monthly photo comp, as this month's theme is 'reflections'):

P1i sepia pic taken yesterday:

Check how far out the tide goes here in the UK. The water level differences between high and low tide is definitely far less in SA.

i guess rhino just showed me that the 5800 cam is not bad at all...thanks boet...can you tell me a few positive and negative things about the phone rhino?

THe only negative i have with it at the moment, THAT i can think of, is the Mobipocket support and DivX support that is lacking.

Email is a breeze, camera is superb (Video and still) for a phone. Just returning from vacation, i used only my 5800 for pics and video, just about 300MB worth of pix and 700MB worth of video.

She on screen tying is much better than any other touch screen i ever used, (I havent used an iPhone yet) but i think if it doesn't match the iPhone, i bet it comes pretty close (Only in terms of ease of on screen typing, I Can NOT COMPARE IT TO AN iPHONE)

Hell, the audio and video quality is great, and i dont know what more to say.

Like i say, the only down side is that the S60V5 is still very new and there are not too many applications available.

I hope this helps

@ Gucci:
Yeah too right; I forgot about that awesome puddle shot; -PERFECT's pic is nigh-on perfect; it's gonna take something pretty damn special to top that for this month's comp.
I think the voting's gonna be just a case of a formality as regards him taking the title this month.

Thanks yeah the high tide had actually swung the boat round too, if one looks at the pic taken at low tide 'a few hours earlier' than that one, LOL.

BTW, the way you caught the reflections in this pic is really keewl;
http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/viewphotos.php?pid=19010

...all those reflections making a very surreal composition!
Legendary surrealism artist Salvador Dali would've been proud of that one, methinks, LOL. Nice work, boet.

Thanks
Interesting character, Salvador Dali, loving his work. Didn't know about him until you mentioned him. lol, had to google him.
Are you a fan?
lol, read that he got expelled from Academia when he claimed that no one in the faculty was competent enough to examine him

@ gola:

I enjoy some of his stuff. He was indeed a character, like most avant garde artists in some way or another, LOL.

My fave artist is Rodney Matthews. Got a few of his prints around the house. He's done some incredible artwork over the years, including album covers, an animated TV series, artwork for reprinted JRR Tolkien novels etc. Very, very distinctive style.
Here's his site:
