@ Jojo:
On Easter Monday, I'm off to the Southend Shakedown, a HUGE biking event that attracts between 20 -30 000 bikers.

I've been going along to the event for the past few years and it's always something to behold.

It's held along the esplanade of the biggest coastal city in Essex, namely Southend-On-Sea.
Watch out for plenty P1i pics early next week...

The Nokia 5800 has now dropped to just below the £200 mark here at the Carphone Warehouse; now £199.95 (approx R3100) on PAYG:

Went out and bought my first LG yesterday, its popular KS360.

Here follows a quickfire review.

First Impressions, unboxing. It looks and feels solid with hardly any creaks. Comes with the standard fare of usb cable, charger, headset, and PC software.

Switching on. Screen is bright, similiar to other LG sets, menu icons are animated and u can choose to have it either display items in a grid or list view.

Calls, texts and internet. Making calls with the the touchscreen seems to be an acquired skill, especially when entering unsaved numbers. My biggest beef so far is that use of the touchscreen is limited to making and recieving calls. Sending text messeges is easy if ur not turned off by a qwerty keyboard.

There's a couple of demo games. It's Vodafone branded set but the only signs are the Vlive links in the browser and the annoying Vodacom images which can't be deleted.

Congrats on getting that neat li'l QWERTY LG slider, brixster.

Thinking back to when I bought the LG KC550 last year, I do look forward to reading The Hobbster's response to this one too..

@gola: Probably won't use it for long...its a stop-gap until I can get a phone on contract. Realised yesterday that I wouldn't be able to text while driving, which is probably a good thing Lord knows I also have to breastfeed while negotiating Hospital Bend

One of the other reasons I bought the phone is because there's a strong possibility I could hack it to run Android since LG announced back in Feb that their first Google phone will be based on the KS360 hardware.

What I really think Wangs is.......... No........I can't lol

My 16Gb Sandisk SDHC memory card is corrupt and cannot be formatted.Thank goodness Sandisk give you a lifetime garantee because it wasnt cheap.(R1299.00 at the time I bought it.) I have got to seriously try use my Nokia E90 more often because my battery is dying with it just sitting lifeless in my bag,day in day out.First things first though is to get the memory card replaced.
