The phone does NOT have software problems but rather Sony Ericsson cannot handle the release of the M600 and P990 for support reasons

so we should see it soon

This sounds very realistic as the latest M600 firmware is very good therefore the p990's should also be ready. This also explains why the M600 was released early, to get as many as possible manufactured as demand for the P990 is expected to be very high.

cingular reception with my 2 sonyericssons sucks. its a thing that se should improved to network operators here. then p990 will not be available to any operators here, that is unbelievable even if we get it somewhere but the features possibly wont be fully supported.

@bluechips, complain to Cignular not SE. Unlike in Europe the networks determine which phones get released in the US. Look at Nokia which 35% of the world market but still struggles in the USA as the networks will not support Symbian phones.

They have fixed major flaws but I've still got bugs on the M600 e.g. call clarity, "performance restarts" and the odd error.

@adhussain

there are very few M600 owners who have had call quality problems so it could be your phone, ie hardware fault. On the subject of restarts I suggest you go back to a generic phone without any addtional apps then add one app at a time to see which one is causing restarts as most owners (again) have found the new firmware is more stable (except for some users using IMAP email)

The call quality issue is not hardware. It was not there in R1B. It only appeared in R3A. So we need a fix for this

@addiecool

well from adhussain statement it sounded like he has always had bad call clarity. Okay you have call clarity problems with the new firmware - well lets see who else has this problem because from my visits to various forums this is not an issue raised by others (but I could be wrong). Unless people strip down their devices to a basic set-up it is difficult to isloate if the problem is with the OS or an additional app.

Edit: please continue this discussion on the M600 thread

@Jah

You are right not many people have complained about this, the first complaint was from addiecool. I hope it's the software in which case it's easily fixed otherwise the hardware route will be a long one

adhussain,

since there are very few of you so far with call clarity problem I would not hold my breath that a new FW will fix it. Better get it exchanged (who knows when next FW upgrade comes).
