Its by the lake. But you will feEL its a sea. Its BIG! ITS ABOUT 60 Kms from Cochin. Less than two hours by road from cochin.

@vin - dude there's basically nothing to see here in coimbatore except me of course , Ooty is exceptional but since your married by that time, all you can enjoy is the scenery

Vin, alleppy is nice. Very good beaches and house boats too. Spend a night in the house boat. And you can also club koorg and ooty. If you are religious, have a stay at kollur. P.s if you have a car, i suggest you drive.

Vin, go to masinagudi. its some 15 km from ooty. Its pretty idyllic and no Way as crowded as ooty.

oh man i went to masinagudi the last time i went to ooty, i cen never forget that trip my entire life. The roads were like at a 45 degree angle literally Extremely bad too. Besides there's nothing much to see at masinagudi

DUH ! no ! the life in that place is shit ! Nothing there except mountains all around
In fact thw whole town is placed on a 20-30 degree slope

but its a bit warmer than ooty, its too cold to sleep at night in ooty but vin wont have that problem
The place is pretty cool, if you're not looking for anything to do, we went there cause we didnt want to make a stop at ooty (we arrived at ooty pretty early) and our professor told us there was a huge power project going on, we didnt get to see it as we went there late but it was awesome, like in the movies, a huge deep underground cave with a big huge gaping entrance in the mountain, completely man made !
