1. Multi-aspect sensor will be the answer.
For example, if the camera captures 12 MP 4:3 image (4000x3000) then the 21:9 image could produce 5271x2259 (11.9 MP) or 5292x2268 (12,002,256 px) resolution. Then the sensor itself has a Multi-aspect resolution of either 5271x3000 or 5292x3000 (close to 16 MP).

6. ISO doesn't matter anymore.
8. At least it's better than any digital zoom. Phones aren't capable to use mirrorless-style optical zoom nor stabilisation due to space limitations.
9. Of course. Even 25 mm angle has distortions.
Just wait till the phone released. Every other manufacturers don't use sony-style algorithms yet they're still doing better than sony in mobile photography.
I'm just hoping they'll use Deep Learning algorithm for their next phones.

Musti aspect is ability to switch between 4:3 and 16:9 without cropping. Only imx300 and imx400 are this kind. Crop you see while recording is because of EIS.
Smartphones have ability to use noise to emulate details (photographer told me). Very common with low res sensors to give impression photo is great.
Use your XZ2 at 12 and 19. The 12MP sample will have less noise compared to 19MP. That's why Z series had downsample to 8.
Last time I tried to make a night video, I forced iso3200 and it was not enough. Too dark even with street light above me. NIGHT SCENE shows up, shutter goes slower and blur comes to say hi.
The Spectra of 855 will give advantage over XZ3, same way xz1 cant match xz2 with same software. But I doubt it will have over p30 pro and its 38MP 1/1.8" imx607.
Last year after MWC they did Q&A on twitter. They were very ashamed because of the questions about selfie downgrade.
I think I'll have to stop by after the event to complain about cam and audio downgrades...
