Do you think that there's a mistake with the article ?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 will be available to buy in June and will most likely come free on a monthly contract.

Sony Ericsson is coming to CommunicAsia 2008 in Singapore

Yes, this will be the first 10 year contract offered by the mobile companies.

Very strange. I've found another site claming that xperia will be avaible this summer.

http://www.mobifrance.com/new[....]ait--tre-distribue-par-Orange/

In the picture you can notice under "extra features" that's written:
Track id music recognition(???????)
and... Motion sensor (with UI auto-rotate) ????????????????????????????? (maybe the 13 additional grams are a motion sensor?)

I don't know how trustworthy is this document..

I think Track ID is a feature of the PlayNow service that will be available for the X1.

Track ID is not play now, track ID records and then identifies the song.

I didn't say they were one in the same. But, one of the features touted by the PlayNow service is TrackID based on a more than 5 million song library.

Read up on PlayNow

I know what track id is. I was astonished cause I thought track id wasn't compatible with WiMO.
What you guys think of this paper? Do you really think a June release is possible???? And do you also think xperia has an accelerometer?

There are track ID apps for WM, I'm using one atm. Hard to say if a June release is possible, probably not though, theres no indication that deliveries have started. But SE might be working overtime to beat HTC to the release of Raphael.

Logically speaking though, the possibilities are slim for a worldwide release of the X1 this month. If they do do it, I'd say hats off to SE

Uh-Oh, this must mean that TouchFlo 3D is even more flawed and inefficient than the X1 panels?

Rotate sensor, optical auto-focus, TV-out, 288MB RAM--nice feature additions. I wonder what it's missing compared to X1?

Looks like it's coming out no sooner than the X1 though. That will be an interesting showdown. I choose the SE Xy1.

Looking more carefully at the sentence in the Press Release, it may or may may not be optical focus. The sentence reads "The built-in camera includes an optical auto-focus lens that ensures the photos you take will be clear and consistent." Actual optical focus or wordplay?...I don't know.

It lacks the processor punch of the X1, but if you're buying the american version of the X1 then the Diamond Pro is a better buy. The X1 EU/EMEA version uses the MSM7200 processor which records at VGA*30fps while the Diamond pro and the X1a records at QVGA*24fps. I prefer the better processor to the increased RAM, but thats just me.

The screen is better on the X1 of course.

EDIT: on the website it says Auto Focus nothing more

Aren't the processors the same?

Unless something is added to the 'a' version to make it more appealing to me, I'll probably get the X1i since the X1a is going to have crippled video.

The extra RAM might not mean too much if TouchFlo 3D is consuming it.
