I believe if a device has a potential it should be explored to the max...

That would mean they have to really release products that are better and better and have a sensible amalgamation of features... Better yet we could choose those features... by adding ourselfs the snippets of code to the firmware (like a drop down menu)

But of course business is only a means to make money and somewhere between the consumer and the corporation its the profits that count and just enough technology to keep us on the ever wanting the next better thing yet...

I would rather for once see a product i.e. K750i that worked its socks off to its best hability and not run out of puff at the bt transfer and crash.

Hey what the hell Utopia does not exist and SE amongst others only look at profits we are really the bait and the beta testers for theire 2nd grade w/ 1st grade potential high cost gadjets.

@mrwoll
Ultimately the release of f/w can alredy be calculated by the time laps of the previous releases...

A e-mail to SE support can benefit you with that knowledge...

they should release a firmware that at same time is available to all Neworks...

F/w code as to be its purest which is always more challenging and harder to get right. so fix a bug at the time and release that firmware instead of trying to fix all of it in one go and 2 months later when you can no longer return your phone under the 28 day policy...

rant over.

Updated the first post with details of which firmware will be applied to UK branded phones when using SEUS. Hopefullt this should limits the number of messages stating "my Brand Name K750 only updates to R1L".

I have few details on T-Mobile phones, so if you have a D750 I would be grateful uf you could let me know the CDA and what firmware revision is currently on SEUS.

@Leviath

I agree. It would be awesome if they made the firmware on SE phones something comparable to Linux, where new code can be added to it to modify. But for obvious reasons they wont be doing.

I just dont understand how they fix some things in a new firmware but degrade other aspects?! I mean if it aint broke, leave it alone! (I definately agree with some people that the screen looked less sharp in R1N).

But for all the moaning and groaing about the firmware the phone still remains a quality piece of kit and still like it ALOT. I like it ALLLLOT!

Got my Sandisk 1GB stick today and boy, transferring MP3's through the standard USB cable has already given me two errors.

1st time: I transferred MP3's one by one but after about the 30th MP3, PC reports a corrupt directory and won't let me transfer. I disconnect, check the phone and no MP3's transferred at all.

2nd time: After that 1st error, I pulled out the mem stick, powercycled the phone, put the stick back in and formatted. I then began transferring MP3's again (several at a time instead of one by one). After about 6 MP3's transferred, I disconnected the phone and checked, again no MP3's transferred to the stick.

At this point, I created folders for each set of MP3's in the MP3 directory and transferred MP3's several at a time, and it looks like its working this way so far.

No idea why the file transfer is so unstable but I'm gonna let SE know they should take a look at it for their next FW update.

How many users have noticed that the last update decreased the viewfinder and picture viewer (jpg algorithm?) quality? Just after the update, when started my k750, it was the first thing i've noticed ! Should a re-update fix the problem?

Also, after update to R1N, I compared the viewfinder with my friend's K750 (flashed to W800) and both noticed that his display look more sharp, pictures too! I send him a picture then i compared the quality. I'm sad for this stupid fact !

I have the R1L002 SW and i found something.. maybe it's a bug maybe not but yes its something stupid hehe...

Ok I go to Settings>Sounds & Alerts>Message Alert then I go to the last alert and I select "Replace".. Ok if you search through the list you can find all the mp3s of the phone memory, and all mp3s of this folder of the memory stick: MSSEMC/Media Files/Audio, but I CAN'T see any mp3 of the MP3 folder of the memory stick...

However if you want an mp3 of the mp3 folder as a ringtone you can select it in the file manager hehe

can some1 check if you experience the same problem? thanks

Hi Guys,

How do i access the phone memmory data using the USB cable? I can only access the Memmory card through USB. The phone memmory data just can not be seen.

Also, when browsing on the phone (not on the pc) with the USB cable attatched, the Media Album doesnt display Memmory card data!

I have the latest RN firmware o Orange UK. No other weirdness to report.

you cant access phone mem through usb,it was never designed to be that way with any firmware. that refers to the second paragraph too!!!

so you have no weirdness at all, be happy!

If you want to search the phone memory, you can do it with File Manager included in PC Suite. You can modify this files or add or whatever you want with bluetooth or usb cable.

Is it likely i'll come across another problem?
If i don't aprove of the firmware will i be able to change back?

Hi I'm having problems on updating to R1N.. could you help me?
I've installed the update drivers but when I run the update (unplug the phone and plug it while holding "c", it starts but at 51% it stops and says: problem communicating with the device. and then take the battery off and then in again, and I cannot proceed.... why??
I did it 8 times with like 10 master resets but no luck.
Where am I wrong?
Please cause my camera is not working now..

File problems on R1N - I hate to tell you...but...no one was listening so I thought this was O2 specific back on R1J/R1L.

I have since always used the Memory stick - not the phone memory and life is happier. Goodness knows what I will ever use the 40MB phone memory for cause it is invisible.

I just notice that there's RF improvements. I usually get 1 to 2 bars in my room, currently, I get 3-4 bars constant. And that's right after I flashed it.

@erevan

try making calls and see if the bars remain at the same level or are getting dropped.
