@moogoo, I used the link given by admad.
I think, if you go to the albums under the link given by XPeriajunkie, you have to click the Sony Xperia.Z1 album and not others... I tried the first album, and you can't zoom too much. The Sony xperia.z1 album works well.

Hi guy's,
read the whole topic over the last 2 weeks just because I was interested in the Z1.
Now that i have it, felt like I should return something all I got out of reading this topic.
My first impression was : very nice. Looked lean & mean and a whole lot smaller than i anticipated. Been a while since i had the Z in my hands and from reading all these reviews etc. I got the impression it would be bigger. It felt light and was comfortable holding it in my hands. Mind you, I've been with Iphone a long time so this is my first Android phone
Charged it, put my simcard and a 64 GB (Sandisk) microSD card in it and fired it up.
Setup was easy and it was so much faster and smoother then i was expecting. I was kinda worried (after reading too much reviews etc i guess ) about 2 things ; the screen and the camera. Battery not so much, because it could not be worse then my Iphone 4s . That sucker did never last me a whole day! To begin with the latter; Played with it the whole day yesterday and had about 26% let. Started at 08:00 am and put it to rest around 21:00. A lot of screen time, browsing, installing appss (and removing them sometimes... Some android apps are crap compared to IOS apps), playing with the camera and watching movies (on the SD card and streaming from NAS).
Ok, now the screen : Should not have been worried! Screen is good, viewing angles with normal use are just fine. Really... no need to panic over the screen! Sure, when i watch at extreme angles the saturation is not as good as it is viewing dead on but everything is still recognizable! For me it takes some time getting used to this screen, as it also would using a S4 or something. It is sharp, and maybe even too sharp? Is that possible?
The camera however at first was kinda dissapointing. There is just to much compression artifacts and noise reduction smeering. This is something they need to adjust in a software update. But after using it a bit more I get better results. Compared to my 4s it is really better and compared to the HTC One from a friend it is slightly better. Given the hardware in the Z1, it should top HTC One easily. Right now it doesn't. But the camera is very good, considering it is in a phone! Haven't played with the manual mode a lot but will be in the coming week. I think i'll be able to sqeeuze better results there and blow the HTC One out of the water. Will never be as good as my 5DmkIII with y 70-200IS 2.8 but I'll survive
Just my 2 cnts, and if there are any questions, let me know! |

is that really a reliable comparison? seems suspicious to me. i don't know how they take the shots at the very exact moment. can somebody extract the EXIF data there? they look fake to me. they look like lumia 1020 photos edited and the inferior shot made to appear as the xperia z1's. is it possible to take photos at the same time and the same angle? look at the photo with the moving car. how did they take that photo for both phones? |

Just a few comments quickly
XperiaJunkie, your photos look good!
It should raise interest in the phone.
I hope Sony will release a firmware update that will make the camera even better, to get the most out of it, and that docomo will not embargo it for too long.
Regarding the reviews on Phone Arena and GSM Arena. Why don't wait or ask camera specialists sites to do the comparison and where they place Z1 and 1020 against point and shoots camera.
Did anyone have more luck than I had in asking Sony about what they mean by pixel binning and what does the still shots stabilisation option do? How it works, under what settings, etc.. Or could someone that will meet Sony people in the near future ask?
Thanks!

If you guys will do an HHT sample(Yes, I'm looking at you moogo ) , do it at night, I want to see something like this
PS: I'm astounded by the deafening silence of the rumors thread these days
@Shotokan81:
+1 for the JPEG engine revision, it is through there that we can see the true potential of Z1's camera

@shotokan - i have asked sony accounts on twitter several times but they choose to ignore my questions. i won't even waste my time going to a store to ask cause I am sure they won't have a clue what I'm even talking about.
A user on XDA did a pretty comprehensive review and he believes it is digital stabilization (which is fine i guess? seems to work amazingly well in video mode) at least.
@razec - well of course it'll be done at night! what's the point of testing Hand Held Twilight if it's not tested in twilight conditions?!

Two peoples make 2 shots at the same time. What the problem really? |

@Moogoo: Thanks, indeed it seems that the only way to get some info is via the insiders that have connections with technical people. This is a strange situation as these are features of the Z1, not rumors or anything Sony has any benefits in hiding.
Re the fact this is digital stabilisation, this is what I would expect, but I am still wondering:
A) how can it work at full resolution 20.7 MP
B) how can it work at the same time as the pixel binning, that i also assume is software based.
Not saying it is impossible, but if Sony has made some prowess here, by all means, let the world (and us) know!!
