@radar.I am using warid because many people has bought warid and call price is less and i have to make many calls these days.So gprs price high but was stable and over all spending of money had become much less due to low call rates. So now as gprs is not working at all so i am moved to the telenor because of good call rate and 250 rupee extra on 500 rupees loading. Earth quake is a sad thing. Not any damage in the fsd area.God have mercy on us because there can be more earth quake in next 3 to 4 days. Regards . Umer

Does somebody know what are the taxes levied on call charges other than the 15% GST?
Somebody in this forum said there were a total of 27% taxes charged on a single call?Is it true?Or is it just the 15% GST thats all.
Thanks.

Rates for 3-min calls on prepaid plans
(inclusive of all taxes)

From one carrier to another
Telenor Rs.10.60
Warid Rs.11.43 (10.47)
Mobilink Rs.20.75

Within network:
Telenor Rs.6.80
Warid Rs.7.62 (5.71)
Mobilink Rs.10.28
*amount in bracket shows off-peak rates

This clearly shows how Mobilink is ripping off its subscribers with high tariff rates and hidden charges.
I came to know of this when I made call from Jazz to a local PTCL number.I noticed the exact balance in my account before and after the call. The call lasted only 13 seconds but I was charged Rs.5.50 for it.
If 3.45 per min is what they advertise the tariff then 5.50 is an increase of a whopping 58% more which far exceeds all taxes combined.
Obviously there are hidden charges that an ordinary call doesn't know but Mobilink deducts it automatically.
What a rip off !

salaams,

I am a currently Ufone subscriber and formerly mobilink subscriber.

Ufone has the cheapest off net charges.

Ufone 3 minute rates:
Rs 8.64 (other network)
Rs 8.64 (same network peak)
Rs 5.19 (same network off peak)

As far as mobilink is concerned (other network):

Rs 3.45 + 15% tax Rs 0.52 + interconnect Rs 1.6 = Rs 5.57

So simple..one needs to have maths to know the rates. U say the call billed Rs 5.5. Thats correct. Though these are old rates.

Now for simplicity, mobilink has given a flat rate of Rs 4.7 (exclusive of tax) on other network.

aainpk, maybe you overlooked Mobink Jazz's tariff that they have posted on their site:

Its 4.70/min other networks excluding taxes.Leys work it out:

4.70+0.70(GST)+0.47(WHT)= Total Rs.5.87 per min
For 3 mins:5.87 x 3= Rs.17.61
Simple math,isn't it?.

@mus24

brother, i just calculated the 1 minute mobilink tariff (OMN) (for older mobilink rates). I didnt added the 10% initial tax cut. Sorry for that.

Quote:
Rs 3.45 + 15% tax Rs 0.52 + interconnect Rs 1.6 = Rs 5.57

But i never calculated the three minute tariff of the new rates by mobilink. I just wrote:

thx for calculating the tariff.

secondly, u said that mobilink 3 minute tariff is/was Rs 20.75. Here is what u wrote:

I would be pleased if u explain how it bills Rs 20.75. For the recent tariff , u urself calculated Rs 17.61. But earlier u said Rs 20.75. How???

Warid out with new International Dialling Tariffs! Call to US, Canada, UK and Bangladesh for just RS.099/30 seconds by dialling 111 followed by the country code and number. Beat that! They have similar rates for UAE and some other countries, which I forgot.
