For the detailed and REAL tariffs of all these major mobile phone companies in Pakistan, check out the website of PTA and the best thing theyhave done is to include the taxes as well instead of hiding them like some of the mobile companies do here.

Hello All,
I have been out of the scene for a while, was busy in my stuff. I went through the posts about telenor's GPRS service. Well, my experience is pretty good except that once or twice it disconnected without any reason, other than these minor glitches, its smooth and fast. I am using sonyericsson set and withit i have no problems of either server busy thing or, for an instance, anyother thing.
For those of you who wana compare the rates of different companies can check today's (sunday) newspaper for a comparison published by PTA (this is also available at their website).

Hi again guys
can any one explain to me what is PUSH TO TALK
i am not understanding it righty
and is it possible and available service in pakistan
Thanks in advance
Regards
Umer
Push-To-Talk (PTT) is a two-way communication service that works like a "walkie talkie".
A normal cell phone call is full-duplex, meaning both parties can hear each other at the same time. PTT is half-duplex, meaning communication can only travel in one direction at any given moment.
To control which person can speak and be heard, PTT requires the person speaking to press a button while talking and then release it when they are done. The listener then presses their button to respond. This way the system knows which direction the signal should be traveling in.
New PTT systems are being introduced in 2002 that use VoIP technology to provide PTT service digitally over 3G data networks. See VoIP.
thats what i came to know
but can we use it in pakistan or not
regards

Hi guys 3 days ago i went home from faisalabad to daska. On my way i kept on browsing and browsing and i was amazed to see that on all the way signal was almost there. Only on some occasion it was lost. Its amazing coverage by ufone. Also i want to mention that on the way i got some calls when there was only one signal bar on my 6600 and voice was very very clear no breaking of voice. My dad was using 6020 with mobilink indigo and he had 3 and 4 signals when he got some calls but voice was very bad and many words missing from the conversation. It clearly shows the difference of the two companies. Regards. Umer

@umerhayat buddy fortunatley I live in Daska have a biznuss here, but belong to Faisalabad, buddy I agree with you that Ufone have coverage almost all the way from Fsd to Daska. But its sucks here in Daska no booster present in Daska city. Last time I visite Fsd i brought a Ufone sim from there but I amazed that its only work on the roof of my house here. And it almost dead in indoor or 1-2 signals hardly. On the other hand my Jazz connection is rocks here i got full signals n no voice break. I dont know where u used ur Ufone in Daska. One thing I want to add I check both companies on Sony Aricsson J300i, J200i, K700 and K750. And I got same results. Bye have fun.

I was faced with an extremely absurd situation today. I called the Ufone customer service center to ask for MMS settings and the representative started telling me the settings. He told me something wrong and i corrected him to which he replied 'Sir have you previously worked at Ufone, or do you think you know more than me' I was flabbergasted and replied 'No i was only trying to correct you' he replied with 'sir i can block your number if you misbehave with me' i hung up on him telling him how rudely he was talking to me, the next thing i know, i can't make calls or receive them. and My SMS had stopped working too. I was astonished. How can Ufone give authority to their customer service representative to do something like that, my SIM had truly been blocked! I couldn't even contact the customer service center again! Angrily, i called Ufone up from my landline and told the new representative my story, he found it hard to believe but still promised to forward my complain to the concerned authorities. I request the PTA to look into the matter and see how cellular companies like Ufone can strip a customer of the services they provide without any prior notice and how representatives can misuse their authority.
