Arnoldc,

You are correct. T68mc does continually have firmware upgrades but not in this country. Those who upgrade their t68mcs here have their phone flashed with firmware intended for m. I had that done on my mc before. I'm not sure what firmware is used to flash the t68ie here. Maybe it converts the ie to i? If it does then the ie loses the capability to use T9 in both languages. English will be the only option. But then again, most of us don't use chinese text input anyway.

t68mc - it can be upgraded, but CANNOT be changed to t68i (in the phil)

t68m sw can be changed to T68i sw

t68mc cannot be changed to t68i (in the phil) BUT can be upgraded up to t68mc R2D sw

if your unit is already t68ie, then u can UPGRADE it to R2E006 t68ie

619,

If the t68mc was upgraded to t68mc r2d firmware, how come the chinese input is gone? Then it wasnt for t68mc after all but firmware for m adapted to mc.

T68ie supports t9 for both english and chinese. It also includes an extra game. I just cant remember what its called. Its supposed to be popular in china.

619,

Hehehe di naman mahjong. Btw, I know someone who is selling a t68mc converted to t68ie. Actually, I sold him that unit before. 2 days old pa lang sa kin pinadala ko na sa singapore to have it converted. Cost me 103sing just for that. (Excluded pa iyong taxi papuntang gold hill and plane ticket) Anyway, the guy who bought it is selling it na kahit na di pa nya nagagamit kasi he was given a 7650 by his dad. Ayus din ano? Let me know if you're interested so I can inform him. The color of the unit is gray and is as good as new. Firmware on the ie is r2e006 with chinese and english t9 plus that extra game.

@G_M: do you have a list or link of the fixes/updates/changes in each firmware version for the T68i?

There's a list that can be found in one of the threads. If you have access from a pc, use search. The most important improvement for me however is T9 capitalization(asterix) and easier use of apostrophes. (pound and zero) Well, gprs connection is better. You don't have to wait long to get on line again after dropping it. Iyon nga lang lately I noticed that it's difficult to disconnect. Matagal mawala iyong globe icon. oh yeah, font inconsistencies fixed kahit na asian lang. Voice commands seemed to have improved. btw, ingat sa T9. There seems to be a limit on the customized words that can be added. pag puno na, you can't add anymore. Master reset na lang katapat nyan.

@G_M. sir, the T39 intermittent reboot problem is back. i have not had the chance to put the phone to its paces, but today in a span of 1 hour, i already had 5 reboots. the longest connection was 8 minutes.

GOwin

Since i had my T39 upgraded last Saturday, i experience losing the GPRS Signal on a regular basis as in i have to reboot the phone to get it back. Is it the phone or Globe service. I am able to connect naman through GPRS and the longest i was on via phone was 2 hrs straight.

I also just had my reboot on me as in the date is 01/01/01 and time is 0800. Is this normal?
