The final specs have not yet been released so don't get your knickers in a knot...I suspect it will come with EDGE...BTW why would you want it when you're on Voda and they don't have plans to launch EDGE.

If the Clara doesn't float your boat there'll be a host of 2mp phones being released this year. 3G in SA will still be a richman's toy unless Vodacom comes up with a "killer app" that gets people interested...Right now speed is not an issue unless you're in a the middle of the Kalahari and want to connect to the internet faster than a Springbok can jump. |

Speed is always an issue. And if i get a new phone, it has to be sony and 3g. Anything else just would not work for me.

The problem with phones as it is with anything is that whatever you have will be considered entry level or obsolete a month or two after you buy it. Manufacturers make phones for individual needs.
Asking for Edge on a phone in a country you can't or don't need to use it in is just for saying you have it. Sure it's nice to have but like having a colour screen, after a few months you stop noticing the nice colours start actually using the phone for what it's used for.
Look at it this way. I am on contract. I got an SE K700i about 4 months ago. If Clara is looking like that, I can only imagine the phone that will be available for me when i next upgrade.

I take it when you say you "need" a 3G phone, it's for work, not for cycling. And since not everybody is going to be able to video conference for at least a year or two it's a waste considering that the technology will probably make today's 3G phones obsolete.
Camera...ok fair enough, but myself i would rather have a dedicated camera so that if someone swipes it, i can use my phone to report the theft....not always a good thing taking photo's with a phone, but especially if your cycling in nice locals, you need that higher quality of a proper cam.

I would prefer to wait before taking the plunge with 3G... MTN will be launchng their service in June and they might just be more competitive with their tariffs.

Poms are australian. And come on lets face it... S.A are just not good enough to beat England or any other team....yet.
K700i rocks. @rhino8 get the 3g phone if thats what you want, just weigh up all the possibilities first.
