I think thats a tick you are seeing and I believe it only means it was sent. it doesn't mean it was delivered.
as mentioned earlier, when I have finished composing a text and I have selected to whom I am sending I then get a confirmation screen which has "Msg", "to", "subject" and "receipt". That receipt is the delivery report option and it can be set to yes or no.
in the outbox if I select a message and choose options and one of those options is message status. The message status shows what time the message was sent and also if "receipt" was set to yes you can see the delivered time which could be hours later of course. if you didn't use the "receipt" option then you have no idea if or when it was delivered
do you have that on your voda V3?

I do have the report option just as described...
Amazing how you learn things every day.. first i got the phonebook sorted, then managed to lose uninspiring pictures and now this. Whereīs it gonna end?

I'm a little sad today because I maxed out the voice dial memory on my V3 after a grand total of 17 voice dial records. Also the hinge has developed a little play, I hope it doesn't get worse. Despite all this, and the terrible phonebook and sub-par battery life I'm gonna hang on to this phone for a while. |

I'm not fussed with the phonebook but I don't have those other problems. I forget to charge the V3 and almost a week can go by before I am down to one bar and realise I should be charging. I read someone else having hinge problems but mine is still rock solid.
The hinge was a problem on early startac but it wasn't because of movement, it was because the platic in the housing around the hinge (and around the aerial) cracked away! apparantly there was a fault in the manufacturing and the plastic wasn't heat treated correctly or something I vaguelly recall. Motorola were replacing startacs left right and centre in those early days

Well.. Voicememo is something I havenīt used since i had my S55 1― years ago.. i am not saying it isnīt an important feature mind you, but perhaps not the first, highest priority thing when constructing a new phone model
Whatīs so terrible with the phone book? I found it messy until I learned this: you can group your phonebook entries by going to your phonebook, pressing menukey, then 'setup', then 'View: Primary Contacts'. i find the phonebook more practical than most other brands as it allows you to have unlimited amount of mobile, work, home, email entries for each person.
My battery lasts 3-4 days normally and I donīt find that sub-par in any way..
My hinge also has some play, but strangely only when closed.. If it gets worse i will have phone repalced under warranty. The hinge thing is the only quality flaw so far though..
All in all i am very happy with mine

hmmm, I had tried that primary contacts thing before but I must have missed the point at that time. Now I can see what its doing and it does make it a little better and once viewing the primary contact the down arrow shows the other contact numbers for that contact
I'll use that now, thanks!

Looks like a really nice phone. I saw a few out last night. Too bad about the memory limitation. That really puts it out of the running for me. Why have such a media friendly phone and choke it with 5 mb of memory? If it had a memory card slot it would be an extremely nice phone. Without it, it seems to just be an overpriced v551 dipped in aluminum. |

masseur: You can also cycle through a contacts diffferent numbers using right arrow in the "first" phonebook screen
Also, did you know that you can remove pictures, video and sounds by replacing them via MPT with a zero-bytes file with exactly the same name and extension? You just put the dummy file in the root level on the phone (not in pictures folder!)
Ringtones can be a bit tricky i have been told.. if you happen to remove any of the "system" sounds the phone is likely to get pissed at you! You have been warned. I have removed all images not associated with any of the themes + the dreadful "HELLO Moto" video with no ill effects.

I dont have that delivery option on mine. Maybe its an Orange thing. The last line is the subject header, nothing after that. Like I said I have it for the MMS but not the SMS which is the one you want it for!
I only ever get 2 days battery and that is only just! |

I guess I'm quite dependant on voice dialing because I drive around a lot in a city where if you take your eyes off the road for even a second you're bound to run into a cow or something of the sort!
The overall 5 meg limit hasn't bothered me yet, and while a memory slot would have been nice, it would have made the V3 a lot thicker, which would take away the main attraction of this phone.
The reason I crib about battery life is because its slightly worse than my old phone (t68i). I just expected stuff to improve in 2 to 3 years. But then again the V3 has 2 displays, far better RF and long range bluetooth that I leave on most of the time, so I'm probably asking too much out of the poor little battery.
The phonebook is merely OK, semi-functional, but not what one would expect from a phone of this calibre. My 2 1/2 year old t68i had a far better phonebook! Sure one could fiddle with options like "view primary" etc, but that's just like putting a small band-aid on a bullet wound. (sorry, its late at night and the metaphors are not flowing well) |

@ThreeX: Did you use MPT to remove the standard ringtones/wallpapers etc, or some other software? MPT doesnt let me see or access any of those files. Maybe I'm not doing something right?
Oh, also wanted to say I love that quote in your sig. Seen it a bunch of times now but still a chuckle it brings to my mouth. |

Ah.. help you i will!
You donīt see the preinstalled files, theyīre hidden..
just choose properties on the image etc you want to remove, then create a file (in windows explorer - new text document - type in exactly the same name and extension as the image you want to get rid of and save the file. Windows will prompt you that changing the file extension can lead to very bad things, just ignore that! Oh and make sure you donīt have "hide file extensions for known file types" ticked or you will end up with a image.jpg.txt and you donīt want that!
Then using MPT transfer the file to the root level of the phone! NOT in any of the folders, the next time you browse your phone, the image will be gone
