Ah, just phoned up O2 and they had to activate GPRS on my card. They say I will have to wait 24hours until it works. |

ALrighty... For mine I just had to change the settings in the control panel and Opera to get it working... Did you have an old SIM or something?

Hey that's what we're here for
Although I haven't really contributed to this thread now for quite a while.
That thing about the old SIM, just shows how fast the industry moves that even a SIM card can almost become out of date and need updating to facilitate new features.
They say 24 hours activation but that is a maximum, from my experience things get activated much quicker than that, just keep tryin it

yeah thats true jus keep on trying might happen in much less than that. might evenbe activated in couple of hours or something because the free txting allowances supposedly take 48 hours but usually they start minutes after i top up so anything is possible mate

Thanks for the credit etc, Just trying to help out those that want the free stuff .
COnsidering all of the above, yes, I think you should just start trying.
On a Tangent, I was just notified that I have "used up" my free texts (in-fact my 1st month is just over, so that would explain it) however all my texts a re still free. DAMN I love o2 !!!

let me get this straight you people get free GPRS. And can only acces WAP sites. You cant use HTML internet or POP3 email or instant messaging services. And because its free your happy with it.
I'm on Tmobile PAYG and i have had the same sim for 6 yrs and i get 100% free GPRS access and can use pop3 and full HTML internet. And use it as a modem for my trino' Just used wap esato and mobile esato wap is shit mobile is awesome. You people are putting up with too much restricted access. |

No No NO!!! We get FULL HTML GPRS!!!! I wouldn't be that happy about getting only WAP sites!! .
However, we cannot use IM services that do not support going through a proxy, and we cannot use pop3 FOR FREE. Pop3 can still be used, but it isn't free. But then again, we all get 1mb of GPRS free per month anyways, so we can always use that up for the POP3 or IM stuff.

Enjoy it. I have contacted O2 and told them about this loop hole surely they are loosing money they told me they will be investigating and taking appropriate steps. In the mean time they thanked my vigilance. I think its wrong that you should be exploiting and organisation in this way. They are at mistake and need to be informed. |

thats just rude. O2 is a business just like my business i would hate it if low lifes kept stealing from my business i would want some one to tell me where i am getting robbed. I get free Tmobile GPRS because it was a deal in the early years.
Your just stealing please dont rip of the service providers. without them you wouldnt have phones. |
