ok the R2AA firmware release was at the SE service centre in Doha, Qatar almost a week back. and i went to upgrade it without checking the net. and now let me add some more bugs..

4. the message tone keeps beeping at times (intervals of 6 hours) without any reason.

5. the call response is still >1 second irrespective of presence of picture or not.

ok.. i am back from the se service centre and they flashed my k700 back to R2L. Yet to see if the defects from R2AA remain as i don't have an infrared near me..

Anyway it IS POSSIBLE to revert back to your old firmware version.
and i did check visually and the firmware version "is" R2L.

Anyone know why the update service is down at the moment? New release?

...Thanks for the info guys...

I guess as soon as the Update Site is back Online I'll see if I can step-up to R2L...

As far as the "Temporarily Out of Order" page goes... I've been checking back quite regularly and just recently I got a different error page (here) - and now I'm not even getting that, my connection just sits there waiting for an eternity like it wants to time-out... Maybe the box is being rebooted? I hope so!

Regards,

Rob.

Added the MMS Subject shorcut for R2AA and the Orange R2Y005 firmware to the first post.

Contrary to what the first post in this thread says, the online update does NOT work with Vodafone NL. I have emailed SE and asked wheter this is going to change anytime soon, but I won't get my hopes up just yet.

Ok, thanks for that. I can't remember who said it *did* work for Vodaphone NL, but i'll change it to say it doesn't until further notice!

No problem. I'll be sure to report back with any info SE might give me.

seems at the moment that a lot of phones are not able to use SE US... branded or unbranded... for whatever reason...

For now as I am aware only phones that has CDA number ending at /16, /17 and /46 are allowed to use SE US (will add others to the list when someone confirms - CDA is customization number found in Software info)...

Hope it will be solved soon

"only phones that has CDA number ending at /16, /17 and /46 are allowed to use SE US"

My phone is from O2 UK, with a CDA number ending /17. However, I cannot use the update service!

[Edit]
Additionally, modified the R2V001 section of the initial post to include Autosave to SIM.

Ups... I am a bit confused now... So your CDA is 102286/17 and you can not use SE US... And masseur can... Strange. I would really like if someone can explain all the different CDAs

@vee
My customisation number is:
CDA102298/17

Reorganised the first post to list the firmwares in release date order. Made some minor changes to various firmware entries too.

Well, I've contacted Vodafone and they said "It is not possible at the moment to use the online update service (duh!), but we (Vodafone) intend to change this in the future. However, at this time we have no additional information".

Well then... I guess I will wait... and wait... and wait...
